OR - Kyron Horman, 7 yo Second grader, Portland, 4 June 2010 - Part #10

A reporter from The Oregonian complained to me that she couldn't get any of the parents to talk to her. The sadness is overwhelming, and no one wants to interfere with the investigation. But everyone that I have talked to in my neighborhood is furious and hurt at the unfair comments that are being made about the school. So I convinced a very shy neighbor to grant an interview. The agreement was that the story would talk about what it was like to be a parent at Skyline. She gave an hour interview about the extraordinary and caring staff, how it feels as safe as her living room, how the principal knows every child by name. She gave examples of how they are safety conscious. When the story was published, the paper primarily used a comment about which exits are supervised or unsupervised. That's the other reason why people aren't talking very much.

Another neighbor stopped by last night to talk. She can't sleep. There are those of us who don't have kids -- we are the ones who call them "ankle biters" and make the milk carton jokes -- and yet she can't sleep. She wakes up feeling sick about a little boy she doesn't even know.

Here's a thought - what about rewinding the scanner to the date and time after Kyron was reported missing? Would be interesting to hear what was going on on the scanner at that time.

Please please please somebody ask in the scanner thread! Member Peachy has a scanner that picks up extra info too. She would be great to research it!

What is out on Sauvie Island? Wilderness? Shopping? Tourist attractions? Houses? Places to run errands?

The SM & Kyron got to school around 8 AM ! They went to his classroom where he "Dropped of his coat & backpack." He went with his SM to show his science project & waved goodbye as she walked back to her parked car!
YET....The teacher marked Kyron ABSENT......the coat & backpack didn't wring a bell??????
No communication between home-room teacher & stepmother.
When Kyron did not arrive on the bus after school.....they called the NON-emergency number.
His coat & backpack are where? In the class room? Still no signal to call a major emergency?
I'm not sure he got to school that day....OR the homeroom teacher is really laid-back, doesn't react with a room full of 2nd graders.:waitasec::furious:I think something isn't adding up. Just moo!

Hello, everyone. This is my first post. I discovered Websleuths when Meredith Emerson was abducted in January, 2008 by Gary Hilton. I still think about Meredith and wish that case would have ended differently. LE's refusal to answer whether any transient camps were found in the woods near the school and their request for the public to check their sheds, outbuildings, etc made me think of Hilton and how he kept Meredith alive for a number of days and moved her to different isolated locations. In addition to the difficult terrain, LE's refusal to allow the public to help with the search also made me wonder whether they are concerned about a possible situation with unprepared volunteers stumbling upon a dangerous situation where Kyron is being held captive. The fact that they focused on the wooded area near the school for so long made me wonder if they found food, camping equipment or evidence of a primitive campsite and could not rule out the possibility that Kyron was there. This case is so frustrating because maybe they have also just focused on those woods for so long because there's no evidence whatsoever of an abduction and in that case, it would seem Kyron wandered out of the school and became lost. The scenario I am proposing doesn't address how or why this person would have gotten Kyron out of the school. I just wanted to share my thoughts based on what we are hearing from LE.

Every day I keep hoping to hear good news about Kyron and every evening its very hard to accept that this poor little boy is still not at home safe in his bed.

I remember that well BeanE. LE was saying how long a child could go out in the elements. They were leaving bottles of water for Nadia. LE were very concerned that at some point they were going to have to make a decision. We have not heard any of that here.

Zoey Dorsey.

Which leads me to believe Kyron has meant another fate and did not wander off.

I read here the Sheriff said a child could last for 10 days. xox

WELCOME to WS Sidley. You are a Web Sleuther now :hand:, and it is great to have you aboard. xox

I have taken 4 children to school events for a 5th child. Just my own experience.

It is just me, but I would have gone to my child's talent show. Huge thing for a kid to have a parent there to watch them preform. That being said, I don't think it was ever "confirmed" that he was supposed to preform.

The searchers were not instructed to think like... someone... who's murdered a child and thrown away their body.

Let me ponder that for a few minutes...

That means they think he wandered off from school, or was waylaid and then left out in the woods or whatever - alive, huh?

OR got away from his abductor and ran away to God knows where?

So then there was a 911 call.

interesting.

are 911 calls available to the media for the asking in OR?

if so, it's hard to believe media hasn't asked.

perhaps they have and they'll play it on the special broadcast tonight? :waitasec:

Hi Sidley and welcome to Websleuths! We are happy you are here and sad that it is under such horrible circumstances. :(

 Keep praying! :praying:

I keep having the feeling he forgot something in the car and ran out to get it as StepMom was pulling away, exposing him to the parking lot.

I think it was just an unusually bad circumstance caused by a lack of concern for security in the school. I's love to know why the teacher left quickly as she did. Was it a planned necessity for her? Just curious. Is that why she had a sub in place for the day?

Also, we learned Kyron's class was a 2nd and 3rd grade combo. xox

Yes, the map shows you where Sauvie Island is, however, the school itself is very far west from downtown Portland, where you're measuring from. Sauvie Island is probably 5 miles or less from the school... I'm guessing, but you could put in the school's address to get the exact distance. It's closer than it looks on this map.

Look at this map. It is from Cornelius Pass to Sauvie Island. The areas in "red" are all Sauvie Island Rd.

ETA: 13.8 miles from about Cornelius Pass and Skyline.

Sauvie Island has a lot of farmland and a couple of beaches. It's very popular for berry picking in the summer (used to go there all the time as a kid) and its pumpkin patch and corn maze in the fall. You can actually get in quite a traffic jam when everyone wants their pumpkin! On nice days, people will go the beaches to get some sun.

Both Bern and CN2Souls have some amazing gifts. We are so fortunate to have them here!!!!
