A lot of children are afraid of police officers. I'm a teacher, and my students frequently make comments about how the "cops will take you away," and "cops kill bad guys," while also not really knowing how to define "bad guy." They also don't realize that police officers don't arrest children for minor offenses.

I'd hope that by the age of seven Kyron knew better than that. He seems to me like quite the intelligent child.

Just looking at the photos outside the school and seeing how thick that brush and forest area is ... :(

Well I hope he isn't in that building somewhere. :(

As to your someone certainly would notice him leaving with his stepmom the same can be said for him leaving with anyone. So where is he??

I think IF he was abducted, whoever took him most likely knew a back entrance to take him out of..therefore, no one saw it.

If it was planned how did sm know for sure she wasn't going to be seen leaving the school with Kyron?.. It sounds like there were many parents around on this day & at this time..It would only take 1 person to see them leave together to blow her whole story apart..Not very smart! And what did she really say about an "appt" to the teacher?..Either way she could always say later the teacher misunderstood & maybe she did make him an appt for "next week" to cover herself but even that wouldn't solve the problem of being seen leaving with him.

If it was a stranger abduction from within the school my guess is the perp would've taken him out in something..What I don't know but he wouldn't want to take the risk of being seen leaving with him either.

I honestly didn't think sm was involved at all until I just read about the pix of the kids on FB & some of her postings from today..It is odd but I still don't want to believe she did something to him OR anyone else either..I'm hoping he wandered off & will be found like the Bloom girl.

eta..I just noticed other posts above mine are asking some of the same Q's..Sorry about that!

YES....exactly! When I view her page it shows up as 4:34, on the east coast it would show up as 5:34. So in the Oregon time zone she was posting it at 2:34 p.m.-----an hour before she knew he was not on the bus.

Yes, I just couldn't remember if my Facebook was set to Oregon/Cali time or Idaho/Utah time. So I wasn't sure if she was on at 2:34 or 3:34.

It appears mine IS Idaho/Utah time. So she was playing games at 2:34pm. Then got off to go get him. The other treasure chest later is from someone else and not her doing.

(I don't do Facebook. lol This is the first time in like 2 years I have even logged in.)

At this point I'm still sticking with my theory that little Kyron went out to the woods to get a real tree frog for the exhibit he was so proud of. Despite what the friend of SM says about him never wandering off, that's still the idea that appeals most to me.

I am absolutely stunned that it's not fenced. I can't think of an elementary school I have seen that wasn't completely fenced... and I've never seen one that backed up to a forest.

LOl... I don't know anything about the game playing stuff except I wish there was something to block all of the posts that show up on my wall from the people who do play them. I don't care about the games and I sure don't care what any of them are doing on them---EVER!

Sorry, that was off topic, except to say it seems like many of the games do some type of automatic posting to the pages of those who do use them.

per WS rules, the SM has been mentioned by both LE and the media. The captain of the sheriff's department said in his televised briefing and Q&A session that LE ran a reverse 911 call on her 911 call, and explained that is done on unlisted cell phones to ascertain # 1 the phone number and owner, and #2, where the call was made from.

IMO this is done on EVERY 911 call that comes from an unlisted cell phone.
Does not mean to me that LE thinks she may have done something.

The first thing they do is look at the family, so if they thought she was involved, we would know by now or will know that soon, IMO.

So, why sleuth her until we are given reason to suspect her. If LE has not said her story is fishy or that they think she is somehow involved, why would we even go there?
If that changes, then we can sleuth her.

All the media reports were crazy to begin with. Just about every article gave confilicting info.
Maybe that's what she was talking about.

I can't believe he wasn't noticed missing. I don't understand. From 8:45 ish, to 3:45, school looked for him but LE didn't start search till 5 ish, thats 9 hours.

This is interesting. I thought the same thing. But when I was going through pics I ended up looking at the train/ bridges, and the mom said something about how that childs older brother did it for him , and as a teacher she would downgrade if she saw that. So unless Kyron is super talented, which he might be I do know a 5 year old that does great art, then he must of gotten some help. Even his bridge looked awesome. Or whatever it was. I'm not sure what I'm implying.

Helping an interested 7yo with his science project is, in my opinion, just terrific! Maybe he has interest in frogs and it became a family adventure. Someone helped get the magazines, with the printing, the pictures, the information. Honestly - I don't know why it should be suspect for family members to take an interest and help out.

I can just imagine what we would be saying about step-mom, brother, and dad if his project consisted of one paragraph, no pictures, no logical layout, and no obvious interest displayed. And if a neighbor rather than a family member had to help him get his project to school, help set it up, and stay while he discussed his project - yikes!!!

I'd hope that by the age of seven Kyron knew better than that. He seems to me like quite the intelligent child.

Someone had to teach him to know better than that though...and a lot of parents figure they will just outgrow it. He sounds a bit like my daughter. She had one bad experience with an officer who came and threatened/yelled at me after our dog got out when she opened the door. Dog was out for less than 60 seconds, just long enough for him to see as he drove by. Since then, she does not like cops. She is 6.5 years old.

If he had a nightmare about it and got the idea stuck in his head... and it wasn't something that was actively worked on... it would be easy for me to believe that he is afraid of them. I would just not have them dressed like cops, not have visible badges, etc while out looking for him. Look like search and rescue.

Then again, maybe that is one of the things that has been reported wrong. Who knows.

We were all going crazy in the beginning of this case - the info was conflicting, confusing, and just plain inaccurate. That comment was made early on and I agree, that it was probably in response to poor reporting. moo

No one at the school looked for him, they did not know he was missing until the step mom called the school when he did not get off of the bus.

I wasn't saying anything bad. I was just pointing out what she said about another kid project, to much help.
Of course its wonderful for parents to get involved. But not to do it all.

Not much news today. I haven't heard LE say anything like they haven't ruled anyone out or they have a poi in mind or anything like that. Not much of anything has been reported.
