I just read through the many pages posted after I left earlier and am not happy about the school. I mentioned in thread one that our school district has had a policy in place for years that all visitors are required to stop at the front desk and sign in and wear a visitor tag. Also to add is that the staff all wears picture badges around their necks, so you'd notice if someone didn't have their tag on one way or the other. It doesn't matter if there is an event, you wear the tag.

I was just going to ask about people checking in. When my son was in school, even that many years ago, everyone, including parents, always had to go right to the office and check in before going anywhere else in the school.

Whatever opinions are here...I think LE has a solid opinion of their own and we will learn what that is, if it pans out, probably within a day or two. But I just cannot believe that the little boy cannot be found...I am really not sold on a predator swooping into a busy, active school with people coming and going at odd hours as on this day, and making off with a 7-yr old without a trace. I am aware that this COULD have happened, and will learn the truth eventually with everyone else, I hope, but it is highly unlikely in my opinion.

Remember the little girl that went missing in OR not long ago, gosh her name escapes me at the moment.
The one where her mom went in the front door and turned around and the little girl was gone??? Y'all remember that one?
I'm thinking she was like 3 or 4. We NEVER saw her parents at all until she was found. She had wandered off.
Her parents never made a plea either.

Lack of plea does not mean much IMO.

ETA: I forgot to say she was found safe. She had wandered off.

I sure hope you're not referring to my post as I was simply asking for the purpose of getting a link to it. So I take it that's a no.

The question posed to him was something like since this special search team (insert name) was brought in does that mean this is believed to be an abduction and he said no. (paraphrased) I don't recall what he said after saying no.

I don't understand the comment that he doesn't believe it was an abduction, so what is it, they believe he wandered off and got lost or something, why not just say that then? IDK, i dont' get it.

Many child abductions were never abductions but murder staged to look like an abduction.

Not that I know that's what was intended in LE's comment, but it's the first thing that came to my mind when I read it.

it is most likely someone he knew. that means it could be an unknown relative, a teacher or parent at the school, or, and i hesitate to write this, maybe another student. who knows?

im thinking this out in my head and its not like stepmom claims she dropped him off at achool and no one ever saw him there....he was at the science fair with her, photos taken, then when it was time to go to class he dissapeared. things do not add up to step mom, that is just imo.

This is most likely because Kyron does not have a Facebook account. When you tag someone on Facebook, it links back to their account if they have one. If they do not have one, it just lists whatever you put, which in this case is his first name. Not unusual at all, IMO.

I understand what you're saying and I appreciate that you pointed that function and feature out. However, it is still disturbing to me as when the toddler appears in photos, her full name is used. And, certainly, an 18-month old does not have a Facebook account. So, still, to me, it seems as though where Kyron is tagged by just his first name, it is more an after-thought since most every other photo (from the baby to the entire family -- except in photos containing miscellaneous individuals) their whole name is used. Why not do the same for Kyron?

I'm not saying that TH has something to do with Kyron's disappearance. That thought just sickens me. But, something feels "off" when it comes to her Facebook page. When she posts about her daughter, I get a sense that she is being genuine. But, not so with Kyron. As I said in my original post, I may be reading into things based on my emotions. Everything I've shared is my opinion only. And, I hope that is the case. But, just like anything, it doesn't hurt to point it out. Unfortunately, you just never know...

Timeline​

Friday, June 4, 2010:​

8:45 a.m. Kyron Horman and his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, attend a science fair at Skyline Elementary School. He is seen walking down a hallway toward a classroom. A fellow student said Kyron was spotted near his classroom in the late morning hours of Friday, but he otherwise has not been seen since then.

3:30 p.m. Kyron fails to return home on his school bus as scheduled. His family calls the school.

4 p.m. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is first contacted about Kyron's disappearance. They begin to prepare for a search of the area.

5:45 p.m. Search and rescue teams begin to scour the area. They cover miles around Skyline Boulevard.

Saturday, June 5, 2010:

Noon: The sheriff's office holds a news conference. A sheriff's spokesman says the search for Kyron is still a missing person case and not a criminal investigation. He asks that civilian volunteers stay away from the search area to allow for the police agencies to conduct an efficient search.

4 and 8 p.m.: Authorities hold additional news conferences and said the FBI and the National Guard have joined the effort. Search and rescue crews completed an "immediate grid search" around the school, sheriff's deputies said, but plan to work night and day to find Kyron.

Sunday, June 6, 2010:

10 a.m.: Skyline students and parents return to school so they can be interviewed by detectives about Kyron's disappearance.
