I love it! Is there a site for these little frogs where they are already sized for those of us who are not techno orientated? LOL

If you search for red-eyed tree frog on Google images, you can right click and get the image location of the thumbnail and photobucket (or whatever site) will upload the thumbnail-sized pic.

Does anyone know if there's a I Phone "app" for missing children? I'd think it would be great to be able to get that info immediately when a child goes missing..the Amber Alert info plus a picture. I know I'm often out driving during the day and don't see a lot of this until evening when I'm back on my computer.

Doesnt that usually mean that they have a pretty "good" idea of who or what?
That's what it sounds like to me.Maybe that's why it's not going national.Maybe they think it's someone local or someone who knew him.I don't know.

Can I get a link to the upcoming press conference, please? TIA

Great thought! There is an iPhone app for Amber Alerts.

You can also get free wireless amber alerts sent to your phone:

Use your iPhone to help find missing children and wanted fugitives

One of the more creative and potentially useful features listed in the programs description is that the application will send out alerts whenever there is a high priority report of a missing child. The application is available for $1.99 in the iTunes App Store, and while you might assume that such a program should be free, it should be noted that a percentage of every purchase will be donated to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Yes!!! I have a great one. Just type in Amber Alert.
Not only does it keep up with Amber Alerts, it also has a section that shows all missing kids state by state (even if no Amber Alert)

It's FREE
ETA: it's made by National Center For Missing & Exploited Children

The app name is simply AMBER Alert (Jonathan Zdziarski is the maker)

I would call this significant. If you look at the location of Kyron's home, the main road below it (IE their house is on the backside of a hill; the school is at the top of the hill and Hwy 26 is on the south/front side of the hill) is Hwy 30.
St Helens is just along that road. That quadrant of town & outlying area is definitely all related to each other. IE, it may be 20 miles from the school but is much closer in context.

Cornellius Pass Road is the main connection between the communities along Hwy 30 to 'civilization' at Hwy 26 and the towns of Beaverton, Hillsdale etc.

Thanks so much for your 'local' insights - much appreciated.
Pretty sure it was reported that a white truck was seen going down a road that is a dead-end - the location was - - NW Cornelius Pass Road - the 2 people reporting the suspicious truck live right there and said how suspicious it was to have a truck come down their dead-end road twice in one day. Once in the day and the other time very early morning.

Guess I'm wondering about empty, abandoned, and foreclosed structures in that area. Could this man work in this area? Any thoughts?

ETA: it was said the person driving the truck was a woman.

I think I will keep my little angel avatar who is looking over all the lost and missing children , while I continue to pray for Kyron and his family.

Love the idea of tree frogs in support of little Kyron though.

I decided to have my first ever Avatar for sweet Kyron!

Where oh where is this little one? I also LOVE the idea of a Kyron Alert... specially for children who just don't fit the criteria for an Amber Alert!

WOW - that is an eye opener.

I did not think a child would leave on his own - but apparantly he might.

Scary.

This makes me think maybe Kyron could have walked off on his own unnoticed.
Yes, I agree. Could have been a perfectly rational decision to Kyron, just like this little boy's decision to leave.

I am catching up, yet again. Is there any proof that he was to be in the talent show?
The only reason I think he wasn't was because of him being a shy kid.

But, if it is a fact he was, I find it odd that first of all the teachers didn't wonder where he was, and second that family wasn't there to support. Also SM did not post anything on her facebook about his upcoming performance, about his nervousness, ect. From the looks of it, it appears she would have, if he was really supposed to be in it.
She has pictures of other middle of the day events in his class that she was part of. Such as the bridge project he did in the spring.
It also shows the younger daughter in the classroom playing with the big kids and talks about her grading the projects... so she seems really hands on in his class.

Ok what a long ramble... I take it from all this that he wasn't really in the show, or she would have been more involved.

Or *attempted* abductions, like the one that happened yesterday. That way, parents are on alert.

As a former 2nd grade teacher, I really feel for Kyron's teacher! It's every teacher's nightmare that something will happen to one of your students when you're supposed to be in charge. A nightmare!

I can't help but think that she was less concerned at Kyron's absence than she might have been because the last time she saw him, he was with a parent. She definitely noticed he wasn't there, and marked him absent, but the idea that he could be snatched by a stranger in between being with a parent and the start of class was so out there.

Probably she was overwhelmed by the logistics of the science fair, too. And attendance matters are usually overseen by the front office, so she just assumed he went home with the SM, marked him absent, and moved on. When I was a teacher, I never ever called a parent during the school day -- so even if I was very concerned, I would have waited until after school to call.

I hope this poor woman doesn't feel too horrible.
