I wonder if they did inventory of the science fair projects? Was anything reported missing? Like... a compass, a tree guide, a potentially poisonous substance... I could go on and on.

Also, what really snags my brain is that LE is confident enough to say that this was an isolated incident and other children are not in danger.

This is an important clue; they know a lot more than they are letting the public know, imo.

That's my thinking too. Why did the dogs not catch his scent? Is it bc of all the rain? I say keep checking the school.

Weather, heavy foot traffic, and initial response delay may have impeded the scent for K9s.

The one thing LE has stated is that there is no reason to believe this was an abduction...since they have stated so little else, I believe them and I believe they stated this for a reason. I also believe they would not lie to the community, i.e. to prevent a panic...they lie to suspects, that is ok, but unless they know they have seriously screwed up, I am not buying that they are lying to the public.

Lots of people post that LE has said it is not an abduction and then go right on about the abductor. It makes no sense to me, but I guess not everyone believes LE, which is fine. I do, unless they are proven to be liars, I guess. JMO

From what I read in the CNN article I posted this morning, my belief is that no crime, just wandering away, is LE's #1 working theory. However, I also know that LE works all the possibilities, and I think they are likely looking at a school employee abduction/crime as their secondary theory.

It's extremely rare for LE to lie to the public, because it erodes public confidence, and they are very careful not to do that. The public needs to trust LE, and LE needs the public to trust them. I trust LE. I don't think they lie to the public.

I've learned to look at everything they say, such as in this case, where along with saying they see no evidence of a crime, they say they are working all the possibilities.

Someone in an earlier thread, sorry I don't remember who, suggested he may have been taken from the school in some sort of container. With all the activity from the science projects and parents and others going and coming this may have not been noticed. Don't know if this would prevent his scent from being picked up.

Yeah...but that would imply that he was in some area of the school where there was little or no risk of anyone walking in when he was put in there (i.e. maybe janitor's closet). No one saw his go in there? Just seems too risky on a day when there were so many people in the school.

I don't know what to think anymore...just very strange.

Well-trained tracking dogs can track through anything. Snow, mud, and rain do not stop them. In fact, I once read that it is easier for a tracking dog to track someone that is wet (ever smell a wet dog?). Since the Sheriff's office and the FBI are involved, one can be certain that well-trained, certified tracking dogs were used and not somebody's Chihuahua. (Yes, I know that tracking dogs are not infallible, but when you have many tracking dogs working on a case the probability for error is small.) It is probable that they now need to use cadaver dogs....so awful.

I think one of the reasons they are using trained searchers is because of the difficult terrain and weather. They want to use all resources to search as opposed to rescuing or helping searchers, jmho.

To bounce off your post.. when I was searching for the SAR radio frequency I saw a lot about requirements to be a cerified SAR.. (working a radio, CPR certified, etc)

I haven't heard LE say that other children are not in danger. Do you have a direct quote for that or can you tell me if you heard it in one of the pressers and if so what day?

Give me a bit to try to hunt the article down, but evidently after Kyron went missing there was more than one discussion by her of her workouts.

Not everyone who has questions are on a witch hunt. I know I'm not! I don't think the wide brush is necessary.

Hopefully, I can save you some time. I read EVERY post on her FB several times from many days before Kyron went missing until within probably minutes of her setting it to private. From June 4 on, I saw exactly ONE reference to the gym and I am pretty sure this is almost an exact quote "tomorrow I am planning to hit the gym". She did not say work out, etc. and by that time the gym was already a collection center for donations to searchers, and a place to pick up posters, etc.

SO little that we know for fact in this matter. So tired of going round and round the same bits of fact, rumor, specualtion.

So, if LE does not in fact think a crime was commited (suggesting Kyron wandered off) then we need to know more about little Kyron and his interests.

Do we know anything at all about his interests, activities, etc?

Is he an outdoorsy kid or a video/DS driven 7 yr old?

Is he like my six year old? Does he like to climb trees, catch snakes, bugs etc?

Is he afraid of the dark? Monsters?

If anyone finds any of the above info about Kyron, I would love to know because if he indeed wandered off on his own this info will be vital to the search.

I've been following a lot of missing persons cases for many years and, unfortunately, this one is following an all too familiar pattern.

Trying very hard to be patient... in the meantime, I sit on my hands.

This case is the most stressful one I've ever followed. Honestly, now I remember why I usually avoid the missing children threads.

I don't believe that a second grader is just going to wander away from school. They are old enough to know not to do that. Especially that day with so many interesting things going on. Unless someone bothered them or bullied them and they got upset and ran away. JMO

Has anyone confirmed whether the exhibit was an Open House-type of event or was it, as stated by an earlier poster, more of an internal IB event? The answer to that question is highly significant IMO, because it would greatly narrow the list of possible suspects (assuming there IS one) as well as narrow down the list of possible witnesses.
