This is so concerning. I keep checking for good news on this.
But where does it say her mom????In the first post.
But where does it say her mom????
She was last seen around 10:30 p.m. after attending a wedding in the rural community of Grand Island.
According to sheriff's deputies, she left the vehicle she was riding in after an argument with her mother and walked away on foot, leaving behind her phone and shoes.
Cordie's family contacted the sheriff's office the following day because they had not heard from her.
It still doesn't make any sense to me. If she jumped out of the car, why would the mother just drive off and leave her there with no shoes and no phone, on a deserted road in the middle of the night? What would she expect was going to happen?![]()
Thank you! Somehow I missed that! Here is an article that explains it was the mom she argued with:
Search for woman who went missing after Salem-area wedding unsuccessful Tuesday
Who knows how long her mother was there waiting, looking or calling for her to return? I have not seen anything that gives that information. Also, how do we know where the mother called the police from? I have not seen that either. It could have been right from that spot. We don't know. Unless, I just missed it somewhere.
Cordie's family on Sunday called the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office after no one had heard from her following the wedding.
No mention of search dogs so far that I can see. This is an ideal scenario where they may be useful.
How far from the wedding venue did the fight occur? Could she have tried back tracking?
Alcohol can make one feel invincible....she may have thought she could catch another ride from someone she knew at the wedding, not realizing it was a great distance.
I hope she is just cooling off and spending time with a friend (i know....odds are not good.)
The picture in the car was in the daytime. They left the wedding well after dark. If she had been drinking the fact that her Mom had to drive her home is highly plausible. On a side note, after looking at some twitter comments and one by her showing a picture of her saying she is on her way to a wedding, she is wearing what the poster's are showing. She is pictured in a car as well. Looks like she is the driver. IMO I'm just throwing that out there.
I'm sure the mom already feels like total crap. If she doesn't, then I am really worried.Something is super fishy about this case. No mother, in their right mind, would dump their child (even their adult child), out of the car at 10:30 at night...no shoes....no phone...Strange. I mean, there’s no indication that mom even came back to look for here. Like, they woke up and were like “Huh, Meighan isn’t here...wonder what happened?” YOU LEFT HER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, IN A RURAL AREA WITH NOTHING AT 10:30pm! Like, where did you think she would go? She couldn’t call anyone, you had her phone.
To be fair, it was a wedding. It's not like she was just out partying. Very bad combination, though, I agree. We’ve seen this too many times. Alcohol and water...
UGH
This video shows her in a store before she was missing. Also, the area where she was thought to have gone missing...
New surveillance video of missing woman
Totally, I’m sure she does. I haven’t heard, I wonder if either were intoxicated. That’s the only reason, I can see, for leaving a vehicle in the middle of nowhere with no shoes or phone and why mom didn’t stick around.I'm sure the mom already feels like total crap. If she doesn't, then I am really worried.
