This is so concerning. I keep checking for good news on this.

Something is super fishy about this case. No mother, in their right mind, would dump their child (even their adult child), out of the car at 10:30 at night...no shoes....no phone...Strange. I mean, there’s no indication that mom even came back to look for here. Like, they woke up and were like “Huh, Meighan isn’t here...wonder what happened?” YOU LEFT HER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, IN A RURAL AREA WITH NOTHING AT 10:30pm! Like, where did you think she would go? She couldn’t call anyone, you had her phone.

I agree with you Lauren. There has to be more to this story maybe? They searched for 3 days and are completed with that area, I guess. Makes zero sense without more information. I am really hoping she didn't end up in the water :(

But where does it say her mom????

She was last seen around 10:30 p.m. after attending a wedding in the rural community of Grand Island.

According to sheriff's deputies, she left the vehicle she was riding in after an argument with her mother and walked away on foot, leaving behind her phone and shoes.

Cordie's family contacted the sheriff's office the following day because they had not heard from her.

Perhaps both she & mom had a few drinks?

MOO, but it could explain why mom didn’t call police sooner.

It still doesn't make any sense to me. If she jumped out of the car, why would the mother just drive off and leave her there with no shoes and no phone, on a deserted road in the middle of the night? What would she expect was going to happen?

Who knows how long her mother was there waiting, looking or calling for her to return? I have not seen anything that gives that information. Also, how do we know where the mother called the police from? I have not seen that either. It could have been right from that spot. We don't know. Unless, I just missed it somewhere.

My goodness. Very odd. Praying she makes it home.

I haven't seen any indication the mother ever called police. Other family members called the next day, when they hadn't heard from her.

Cordie's family on Sunday called the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office after no one had heard from her following the wedding.

No mention of search dogs so far that I can see. This is an ideal scenario where they may be useful.

How far from the wedding venue did the fight occur? Could she have tried back tracking?

Alcohol can make one feel invincible....she may have thought she could catch another ride from someone she knew at the wedding, not realizing it was a great distance.

I hope she is just cooling off and spending time with a friend (i know....odds are not good.)

I agree with the dogs. I have said this before on other cases, but these type of searches should be conducted with trained Bloodhounds and as few humans as possible. Bloodhounds are very capable of tracking someone in a case like this. In somes cases even if they are in a car. Having large numbers of humans searching just messed up the scent for the dogs.

On a side note, after looking at some twitter comments and one by her showing a picture of her saying she is on her way to a wedding, she is wearing what the poster's are showing. She is pictured in a car as well. Looks like she is the driver. IMO I'm just throwing that out there.
The picture in the car was in the daytime. They left the wedding well after dark. If she had been drinking the fact that her Mom had to drive her home is highly plausible.

I'm sure the mom already feels like total crap. If she doesn't, then I am really worried.

If someone knows the answer I am wondering, when a search is called off for an area, is there anything that prevents friends and family or private citizens from going door to door canvassing the area? Not just in this case, but anywhere? Because if it was my loved one who was missing and not found outside, I'd want to be knocking on doors if no one else was.

We’ve seen this too many times. Alcohol and water...

UGH

To be fair, it was a wedding. It's not like she was just out partying. Very bad combination, though, I agree.

So I guess there’s no doubt she left with her mother (plenty of witnesses and perhaps even a scene), and there’s no reason to think that Mom wanted daughter to disappear, because if it had been BF driving the car, everyone’s hinky meter would be sounding off.

I noticed the reporter says the location from which she’s reporting is where “they think” she jumped out of the car. Since it was dark and and an unfamiliar route (and alcohol consumption, IMO), they aren’t even certain the last known location is correct. Ugh.

Water is my first thought, too. Not only the river, but irrigation ditches and ponds would be in play. I agree with getting the bloodhounds out. I sure hope she is found alive.

This video shows her in a store before she was missing. Also, the area where she was thought to have gone missing...

Totally, I’m sure she does. I haven’t heard, I wonder if either were intoxicated. That’s the only reason, I can see, for leaving a vehicle in the middle of nowhere with no shoes or phone and why mom didn’t stick around.
