(Ugh.Yes, SW was executed. :( Double meaning, Shanann Watts.., sorry :( :( ...)

Aw, you're welcome. :)

Zero hits from Google for "Meighan Cordie" "Search warrant." LE was very tight-lipped though, so I'm not too surprised.

Do we know if a SW was executed and when? Just wondering about her clothes.
—//—
Anyway that was just an initial thought, that maybe she went back to look and found her, still catching up but wanted to say it sounds like she was traaaashed. And she indeed might have been in practical blackout comatose mode, I’ve seen it with my ex before my last ex. Which is why I left him. Because he was endangering our lives when he would “blackout behind the wheel”.

This is a this is a horrible story. I hate it.

I do not recall ever hearing if a SW was executed for the clothes worn by the mother. I do remember hearing in the press conference that the car had been searched at a later date- but nothing about clothing worn by her.

It sounds like the mother has not been terribly cooperative in the investigation. According to the news reports (previously posted), she has given incorrect information from the beginning. And has now obtained legal counsel.

You bring up a very good point- perhaps there may be some evidence on her clothing?

So she wasn’t totally blacked out bc she stopped though, right? And looked? (Allegedly?) So she knew to stop and look?

Just terrible all round. No matter how you look at it.

Is it possible she did stop and realize she was dead?

From Prosecutor Berry’s Prosecution Declined Memo:

Jennifer said that Meighan wanted out of the car and as she braked to about 5mph, Meighan jumped out of the back seat. Jennifer said it was dark, with no street lights or houses. She said she turned the car around, but could not find Meighan.

Jennifer indicated that after looking for a while, she headed home with the child who was in a car seat in the back seat of her car, assuming Meighan would walk back to the wedding or find another way home, since Jennifer had Gia, she was sure Meighan would show up the next day.

[SBM]

Additionally, it now appears that Meighan got out of the car on two occasions. The first may well have been in an area near where Ms. Weathers identified (and the search was conducted and consistent with the “pin” identified from the cell phone examination). Meighan got out of the front seat of the car on that occasion. She was convinced to return to the car and at that time sat in the back seat by Gia. This explains her personal effects being in the front seat, but not as relayed by Weathers.” (BBM)

1. “She [Weathers] said she turned the car around .... Jennifer indicated that after looking for a while ...”:
1) Nowhere in the statement does it say Weathers pulled over, let alone got out of the car, at any point to look for Meighan;

2) It very well could be that Weathers just drove around for a couple of minutes;

3) These are claims made by Weathers, who has been proven to have lied numerous times to the investigators. It is entirely plausible, IMO, that she never even pulled over.

2. “... in an area near where Ms. Weathers identified (and the search was conducted and consistent with the ‘pin’ [ping?] identified from the cell phone examination).”
1) It is possible this was the only ping that registered during the relevant time period. However,

2) If Weathers indeed spent a good amount of time looking for Meighan after “Meighan jumped out of the back seat” (Weathejrs’ words), wouldn’t phone records show that (i.e., Wearhers’ being in the vicinity of where Meighan exited the car for a period of time)?

3) It is not clear to me from the memo whether the cell phone records were obtained while the search was still going on. However, if records indicated the car was stationary in the area where Meighan was eventually found, wouldn’t the searchers started looking there as soon as the investigators realized that?

4) Nowhere in the document is it confirmed Weathers ever looked for Meighan.

Weathers never even pulled over, IMO.

If she remembers stopping to look she wasn’t blacked out. I think blacked out means someone can function but not remember what they did. If she’s to be believed (debatable) she was just plain drunk, not blacked out. Either way it’s definitely terrible.

If JW didn’t stop, she purposefully left her daughter out in the dark, not knowing for certain whether she was still alive ... and lied to LE about the location where MC left. The lying occurred after JW had presumably sobered up.

That’s cold.

I am new to this case, howerver, read all pages today.

An absolute horrible situation! And, to think the three year old was able to give LE details to put the pieces together. I feel sorry for her in the future as she realizes what she actually witnessed.

My question is did LE pull the GPS built into the car to check what stops and starts JW actually made on this fatal drive home? Don’t cars have a factory installed GPS built in - that tells exactly where the car has been? Not the type the owner uses for directions.

Strange case. Hard to fathom leaving someone and not doubling back to check on them/pick them up.

yes, extremely questionable.

”In a brief appearance, Weathers was crying and was booked on the charges after. She was ordered to have no contact with her granddaughter, who was in the car at the time of Meighan's death.
[SBM]
Berry said he doesn't know how Weathers wouldn't notice her daughter leaving the vehicle.

KOIN 6 News will have more information later in the day.“
Meighan Cordie's mom makes 1st court appearance

Somehow I haven’t been able to bold today; otherwise I would the part about her being ordered to have no contact with Little G. The judge did the right thing, IMO.
