Notice how the article is written. It says "two of the woman's children" as if there's more. Does anyone else get that impression? Why can't molesters look like the monsters they are? This couple would fit in just fine in Portland. Nobody would take a second glance. They don't look like drug users. SO WHAT'S THEIR EXCUSE!!!!????

Beaverton and Aloha are nice areas of Portland. My adult son lives in Beaverton and is a caregiver. He works with young men like this. I am flat out disgusted.

"The government has accused the human resources manager for Portland's U.S. Bureau of Land Management office of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl he met online into having sex with him.

Kyle D. Worley's plan was foiled by the girl's stepfather, who learned she had been contacted on the teen dating site www.tagged.com by a man using the screen name "Magical Tongue," according to government court papers.

Worley, a 51-year-old Vancouver resident, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two Internet crimes -- sending obscene images of himself to a minor and trying to persuade the girl into having sex. He repeatedly sought topless photos of the girl and at one point sent her a short video of him masturbating, the government alleges....."

Finally!! If you're not familiar with this case or these mug shots, I suggest you read up. This couple lived in a very nice area of Portland, had lovely seeming FB and MS pages and were engaging in some of the most vile stuff behind closed doors. They hosted slumber parties for local girls and were as friendly as could be to neighbors. I've never been able to forget the abuse of the young teen with the multitude of disabilities. It just left me shaking my head.

I don't think we've ever figured out who the Bureau of Indian Affairs employee was. I don't think he/she's ever been identified.

Marceau pleaded guilty to 12 counts of producing child , 12 counts of being a parent or guardian and allowing a child to be used in the production of child , and one count each of transporting, receiving, and possessing child .

He also admitted that he, as a legal guardian of the children, allowed them to engage in or be used by another person [Ford or someone not yet named?] in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing such photos, prosecutors said. Haggerty shaved one year off the 50 year sentence because of time already served...."

A learning disability?? That's the only defense she could come up with? She loves her children and sacrificed for them? I think not. I think she sacrificed them, plain and simple. I wonder if we'll ever learn who all the players in this ring are.

"A federal judge this afternoon sentenced an Aloha mom to 45 years in prison, describing her sexual abuse of her 6-year-old daughter and severely disabled 14-year-old son as the worst such conduct he has seen. "This sentence," said U.S. District Judge Ancer L. Haggerty in his downtown Portland courtroom, "takes into account the conduct that was involved in this case."

Lisa A. Ford, 35, admitted that she allowed her husband, 43-year-old Michael J. Marceau, to sexually abuse her children, photographed the acts and molested them herself. Marceau, who traded photos of the abuse with other child collectors, was sentenced last month to 50 years in prison...."

"...an expert had described her client [Lisa Ford] as a very low risk for committing such a crime again. [Defense Attorney, Lisa] Hay pointed out that Ford also was described as a devoted mom who sacrificed for her children. And she said her client, who suffers from a learning disability that clouds her judgment..."

Isn't this what you would tell a judge if you'd hurt your children in an accident when you were driving drunk? It would be a stupid mistake and lapse of judgement but not in the same ballpark with sexually abusing your children again and again, filming it and trading those photos. This crime was NO mistake.

And a "diminished IQ" plays only the smallest part in this debacle, as the judge recognizes. To even bring up that issue is a slap in the face to all the wonderful parents out there who have a "diminished IQ". A lower IQ does NOT equal a complete lack of ethics or morals.

Notice that Ford mentions herself eight times in this short statement. She doesn't mention the traumatic and lifelong effects to her children once. Not once.

I especially like what US Attorney Holton said:

"...Shortly after the sentencing, U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton shed light on the nature of the case. "It's a tragedy that knows no boundary," he told reporters. "It almost cheapens the word tragedy to call it a tragedy. But let us not let the tragedy be in vain. Let us use this tragedy, see it as a wake-up call to be ever more vigilant in preventing this abuse and protecting children. Let us be ever more vigilant in prosecuting people who undertake these kind of awful, horrific acts...."
