In all seriousness, I hope those fools holding out will come to their senses or, more likely, be talked down by more rational voices.

Whichever of the LE in the presser said it today is correct: no more blood needs to be shed.

On the other hand, though, those intent on committing suicide by cop in the hope of martyrdom (as I believe Finicum did) have nothing to gain by being talked down and everything to win (in their minds) by forcing the situation as Finicum did.

Lose-lose situation all around.

“Meanwhile Thursday, Arnold set up a legal defense fund on a crowd-funding website to raise money for the defendants facing a federal conspiracy charge stemming from the armed takeover of the wildlife refuge outside Burns.

"Ammon Bundy and his friends have been arrested. Please donate to Ammon's defense fund here or donate to another's legal defense,'' Arnold wrote on the site.

"Everyone needs their own lawyer for their own protection. Please feel free not to contribute to Ammon and instead contribute to another defendant. Your generosity is greatly appreciated,'' the site says.

So far, about $1,100 has been pledged for the fund. Their goal is to raise $100,000, according to the site.

Money donated will be placed into an attorney trust account, according to Arnold's law firm.
