If he were a snitch wouldn't they be pretending to charge him along with the others?
Well, yes and no. But specifically, in this case, I think that he doesn't qualify for the law they are using to charge people. As he said, he wasn't there in the beginning and it doesn't appear that he was part of the planning.

Nevertheless, it is entirely possible I suppose that he could be a spy. We need to find out more about him.

What I am curious about is who were those two guys at the Refuge on Saturday, the day of the singing Sharps and the signing ceremony? The ones that Pete Santilli went after. I think that display that day, did him in. As an aside, he is totally obnoxious.

“Public-lands protester Shawna Cox, 59, of Kanab, faces felony charges that could land her in prison stemming from a standoff with law enforcement authorities in eastern Oregon.

Cox is well-liked in Kanab and nearby Fredonia, Ariz., and is known as a sweet, churchgoing family woman who holds strong views on public lands and constitutional issues.”

*

“Cox's husband, Don Cox, has called her a "patriot." He could not be reached Wednesday by The Salt Lake Tribune.

But her close friend, Mike Noel, who represents the Kanab area in the Utah Legislature, has known Cox for some 40 years and described her as a stalwart in her community.

She goes to church every Sunday, has a large family and is active in politics, Noel said Wednesday.

Cox is also involved in the area's tea party movement. She has written a book about Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher who forced a standoff with the Bureau of Land Management in 2014, called "Last Rancher Standing: The Cliven Bundy Saga, a Close-up View."

Cox was in Nevada during that standoff and developed close relationships with Bundy and his sons Ryan and Ammon, who were among those taken into custody Tuesday. Ammon Bundy is seen as the organizer of the Oregon protest.

Noel said he warned Cox not to go to Oregon for several reasons: It's the wrong state, the wrong federal agency (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service) and the wrong approach.”

She's fine and upstanding and a pillar of the community because she goes to church every Sunday, has a large family, and is active in politics.

Oh, just like Josh Duggar.

And she's "sweet, " as evidenced by her whole hearted support for armed insurrection. Go grandma.

I don’t think so. What wound that accomplish? His job is done.

In the same article there is a picture of Cox and her legislator friend Mike Noel at the beginning of an ATV protest ride up the Paria Canyon near Kanab in 2009. They were protesting the closure of this fragile canyon to motorized vehicles. Not to derail this thread, but just to show that Cox puts freedom ahead of reasonable preservation, here is an article about that protest and a link to BLM information about the canyon. While I haven't visited Paria Canyon, I have been to Kanab and its surroundings and visited other areas in this incredibly beautiful part of the world, such as Antelope Canyon in AZ and Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in southern Utah. Sandstone and ATV's etc do not mix in certain special places IMO.

Shawna said, "We, the citizens of Kane County and nearby residents, while listening to a talk on the 10th Amendment of the Constitution at our 1st local Tea Party, heard the BLM was going to close down the Paria River Access Road on Monday. This isn't right! Citizens must make their voices heard and demand these land managers listen to the people! Aren't the people, the Government?"
***

Shawna is no stranger to fighting to keep the federal government out of State Lands. She was part of the formation of the Canyon Country Rural Alliance, a group that defends rural culture, values multiple use/sustained yield management in Kane County, Utah. The CCRA was formed after President Clinton traveled to Arizona to declare two million acres of Utah a National Monument.
***

Shawna thinks the only hope for the rural culture is for a grassroots uprising that will force our local representatives to defend the public's rights as Kane County has done. "The people who use these roads have a stake in this. If we don't speak up, I fear the wilderness groups and their allies will succeed." Shawna added.

So on Saturday, May 9, 2009, a group of 500 citizens held a peaceful rally and about 30 rode past BLM law enforcement officers all the way up the Paria Canyon. No tickets or citations were issued that day

Was that the one where Santilli accused the guy of being a spy for the Feds? Then proceeded to bring up photos on a laptop to 'prove' it? They were anti-militia protesters. That was bizarre. Like a time traveller from the Middle Ages who discovered how to use a MacBook.

I feel for the law enforcement having to deal with these lunatics. These last 4 almost make the Bundys look sane, and I didn't think I'd be saying that so soon!!

The article forgot to mention that she is also a very good liar. I have a feeling she did not think LE would release the tape of what happened to Lavoy. The only bullets being fired prior to Lavoy reaching for his gun were full of pepper spray - She lost all credibility - tells you alot about what these folks really stand for. AND again, I am embarrassed to find out Sean & Sandy Anderson are also from Idaho. I might have to move.

I bet many of them weren't the least bit interested in ATVing through the Canyon before someone told them they couldn't go.

Earlier this month, a group of Utahns traveled to the wildlife refuge in an effort to diffuse tensions between law enforcement and the Bundy militia. Among them was gun-rights and community activist Janalee Tobias, who met with Cox and the others.
...
Tobias said she was surprised by the news of the arrests and the death of Finicum. But she noted it could have been worse.

"When you bring firearms into the equation," she said, "it changes things."

Interesting thought processes there. So apparently she recognizes that people may be more likely to get killed if they bring weapons into the equation. Yet she's a gun rights activist, so she wants people to able to bring more weapons into more equations?

Ammon Bundy to appeal to another judge to be released pending trial, court records show
By Maxine Bernstein | The Oregonian/OregonLive
on February 01, 2016 at 5:00 AM, updated February 01, 2016 at 8:07 AM

http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2016/02/ammon_bundy_to_appeal_to_anoth.html

“Lawyers for Ammon Bundy this week will challenge U.S. Magistrate Judge Staci F. Beckerman's order to keep Bundy in custody pending trial.

Beckerman on Friday denied release for Bundy, citing his repeated disregard of federal orders to leave the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, where he's accused of leading a month-long armed takeover of the federal property that began Jan. 2.

The judge also determined Bundy, the leader of the armed occupation, would be a danger to the community, noting his and other siege leaders' threatening statements on social media, obvious firepower and the loss of one man's life, referring to the shooting death by state police of occupier Robert "LaVoy'' Finicum last Tuesday.

Bundy's lawyers argue that Bundy can be released, with GPS monitoring and orders that he not return to Oregon from his home in Idaho, except for his court appearances.”

*

“"He has no desire to go anywhere but home to provide for his family,'' Casey told the court. "He's done in Harney County.''

Casey and co-counsel Mike Arnold said the government failed to prove with clear and convincing evidence that no conditions of his release will assure the safety of the community.

They will ask U.S. District Court Judge Michael W. Mosman on Tuesday to revoke Beckerman's order.”
