Those who start violence become the problem.

But when there's a march of bullies chanting hateful things going through a non-white area of a town, then I support people standing up with anti-nazi signs and chanting peaceful slogans and saying they hate the KKK and things like that. But keep it peaceful. Do not physically attack those who are not physically attacking you. Turn the other cheek where it's possible before you escalate violence.
I am anti-violence too, but the alt.right has been emboldened and are becoming more of a threat than they ever were. I can understand how some will turn to violence when it saves lives.

Well, I do hope they're investigating the alt/right NeoNazi groups, too. They used to, years ago before it became politically unpopular in some circles.
Right? For most of my life it was a given, everyone knew Nazis are bad. Now it’s like “Maybe not all bad.”
What? No.

We need to get this nonsense under control.

Antifa isn't saving lives, they are a facist group targeting other groups that don't walk in lockstep with Antifa. People shouldn't romanicize facists and criminals like Antifa.

Well, the Proud Boys have already been classified as hate group.
I don't think so. I don't see any legitimate organization classifying them as a hate group.
Proud Boys - Wikipedia
They just seem to be a pro-Western men's rights organization. There seems to be a woman's group as well. I think the police are correct and it's the Antifa fascists who are causing the violence. I usually believe the police over the fascists.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has them as a hate group.

Agree, the attempts to "normalize" Nazis (and white supremacy activism) is very disturbing and shouldn't be tolerated in the US. Even Germany knows better than to re-write that part of their own history.

It's easy for fascists like Antifa to call every other protester "Nazis". Nobody is normalizing Nazis, however Antifa supporters are normalizing violent fascists.

Sorry, but this is bizarre and off-beat:D:D
If someone tells me a group is a hate group, I research it. Some people have a very loose definition of "hate"

What Do You Do When Proud Boys and Other Hate Groups Show Up at Your Bar?
How to deal with hatred when confronted with it face-to-face

What Do You Do When Proud Boys and Other Hate Groups Show Up at Your Bar?

Interesting read, imo, especially the end with people's quotes.

"Last weekend The Griffin bar in L.A. was home to a “hate meetup” for the Proud Boys, a group of self-proclaimed “Western chauvinists” created by VICE co-founder Gavin McInnes. As reported by the L.A. Times, when word spread that the Proud Boys planned to congregate at The Griffin — first through texts and then across social media — a group of leftist protesters led by comedian Josh Androsky came to the bar."

A hate Meetup. Not cool.

"There are a number of people and groups who walk the line between alt right and alt lite, to the extent that it’s not always easy – or even possible -- to tell which side they’re on. The Proud Boys, an alt lite, right-wing activist group founded by Gavin McInnes and dedicated to “Reinstating a Spirit of Western chauvinism,” is a good example of a group toeing that line; some of their members support alt right figures and events, while others have made a point of steering clear of anything associated with white supremacist beliefs."

"Antifa is not a unified group; it is loose collection of local/regional groups and individuals. Their presence at a protest is intended to intimidate and dissuade racists, but the use of violent measures by some antifa against their adversaries can create a vicious, self-defeating cycle of attacks, counter-attacks and blame. This is why most established civil rights organizations criticize antifa tactics as dangerous and counterproductive."

Who are the Antifa?

This topic is becoming ridiculous with all the doublespeak.

“Those damn anti fascists are so fascist they have become a hate group”

huh? Statements like that obviously don’t make one lick of sense.

Is the argument being made here that Antifa has been infiltrated by white supremacists?

Why would a group stand so strongly for a cause if their true intentions are the opposite?

The overwhelming majority of those who support Antifa or BLM are simply against supremacy of any kind. That is only a bad thing to those who have a supremacist mindset.

I can’t bold on my phone but your last paragraph: YES.

Just because they are on the right or left, doesn't make them a hate group. That takes actions. Actions that Antifa willingly makes. Antifa is a facist organization. They make other facists look peaceful. Just look at the videos of their riots, of their attacks upon people peacefully protesting. They even attack the police.
