Family of missing Cornelius man to hold news conference | kgw.com

Ralph Brown, the former mayor of Cornelius, OR has been missing since May 16th. HIs family worries that since he suffers from dementia, he may have a hard time finding his way home.

His family is trying to get the word out about his disappearance, and have received word of possible sightings as far away as Eagle Creek and Silver Falls (about 1.5 hours from his home in Cornelius).

Notably: Brown is about 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes and is missing the tip of his right index finger. His family said he has a distinctive shuffle to his walk.

Brown’s family released this timeline of events, which includes several possible sightings:

Not much new info but a little more here:

Former mayor of Cornelius Ralph Brown missing since May 16, suffers from dementia

His daughter, Laurie Saunders, said during the briefing that she spoke with him the night he went missing, and that he wasn’t sure exactly where he was. He told her he was “literally in the bushes,” and that he might be near a golf course, but couldn’t give her more specific details. He also asked if people were out looking for him.

She told him to wait for a call from his son, who was going to go out and find him, but Brown didn’t answer the phone after that.

Still hoping the best for this man and his family.

Former Cornelius mayor still missing, search continues | KOIN.com

On Thursday, his family and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office will hold a 10:30 a.m. press conference in Hillsboro. Also on Thursday, the Washington County Search and Rescue Team will be searching the Hess Creek area south of Newberg.

Over the past 2 weeks, searchers haven’t found any trace of Brown. GPS signals determined his last known location and searchers have used drones, boats and airplanes to look, along with ground crews. Officials said there hasn’t been any cell phone or bank activity since he was last seen.

His car, which does not have GPS, has not yet been found.

“If Mr. Brown’s vehicle is located, it can be an essential start location for a Search and Rescue operation,” said Washington County Sgt. Jesse Baker.

No new update. No new sightings. I really hope they find some clues to Ralph's whereabouts soon.

Former Cornelius Mayor Ralph Brown still missing after 8 weeks | kgw.com

On Sunday, family and friends held a vigil outside the United Church of Christ in Forest Grove for Ralph Brown, who is a former mayor of Cornelius. Brown disappeared on May 16, after leaving his home in his car.

Reality becomes more troubling eight weeks in, but no one is giving up. That's why loved ones are asking the public to continue to look for Brown and the car he was driving. Brown left in a blue 2014 Nissan Sentra, Oregon license plate 319KQV.

The Washington County Sheriff reminds you to call the non-emergency phone number at 503-846-2700 if you have information about where Ralph Brown may be. Call 911 if you see him.

Not sure why he was still allowed to drive if he had such advanced dementia. So dangerous.

This is heartbreaking. Also a sad reminder that when relatives have dementia, it's time to take the car keys away.

Official FB page for him:

>> FIND RALPH DAVIS BROWN OF OREGON

This is so incredibly heartbreaking.

He called his kids to tell them he was lost on 5/16/2021 and has not been spoken to sinse. Evidence suggests his car was in some bushes and he was in the Newberg, McMinnville, Lafayette, Oregon area. He has an early onset of Alzheimers and is probably lost and confused. His children and his wife are worried sick. Searches have not turned up his car. Groups have been looking between Astoria and Salem and Hillsboro and all roads and places he may have gone off the road in NW Oregon. Ralph may have been seen this past week in Newberg without shoes walking through Newberg parks. Searches are needed - drones and other tools are a big help. Leave a message or a post here if you can help and we will try to help the family and coordinator Sue Fleskes coordinate things at this FB Group. You can text Dirk at 503-799-8383 any information and if you spot Ralph or his car call 503-629-0111 for emergency response or 911 if he needs help or may flee. We are holding out strong faith and hope he will be found and that we will get a break in the case soon. Ralph is probably confused and not sure of where he is or possibly what time in his life he is in. Thank you all for your help.
