His sister MU who lives in Minnesota told KLCC the four people who last saw Sprenger at his home in Vida were the ones who found his vehicle. They reported him missing on Nov. 5.

[...]

Most of Sprenger’s family resides in the Midwest in Minnesota and Wisconsin, MU said. She adds the past eight weeks have been difficult and is asking for any information -no matter how small- to help the family find some closure.

Family of missing man offering $50,000 reward for locating him (kezi.com)
[...]

Sprenger intended to rebuild his own home this year after losing his home to the Holiday Farm Fire last year, his family said.

"We're thinking about Shane every minute of every day," Shane's older sister SS said. "I mean, that's all we do. It's like life is kind of on hold until we know what happened to him. We are all prepared for the worst, but we're hopeful for the best outcome."

[...]

Anyone with information on Sprenger’s disappearance or whereabouts should contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150 and reference case number 21-6268.

I wonder why those four people were at his house when he went home for lunch..his wife and three men. Or were they the last four people to see him but at different times that day? I'm sure LE is looking closely at all possibilities or at least I hope they are.

Nobody has ever said exactly. Every time it's discussed with any detail, posts on the local board seem to get deleted. I don't know any of them other than Reighray as a strange but harmless guy that would ride his bike with his little dog up and down the highway. I'm assuming he lost his home as well, but I think he would have been a neighbor of Shane's before the fire. It's obvious which one is his wife, although most refer to her as his girlfriend. The younger guy seems to be a known local. I don't know who the older guy is, but maybe a boss or whoever's place he was working at?

He has a profile on NamUs now:
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

My heart goes out to all of his innocent loved-ones who just want to find him. I hope answers come very soon, and if there was a crime committed, that he will receive justice.

I don't know details of his disappearance aside from a quick glance at the fb link posted above, but I hope whatever the truth is comes to light.
Keep investigating, LE.

Wasn’t Shane working near the McKenzie bridge?

He was seen working at a job site near McKenzie Bridge the day he disappeared, but want to add that McKenzie Bridge is a town, not necessarily a bridge or a singular location that can be pinpointed.

I do see that his home is very close to Blue River Reservoir, where his vehicle was found. It's about a 5 minute drive- (which may be a good place to hide his vehicle/misdirect searches for him, if his disappearance involved another party.)

Where this UID was found is very close to the McKenzie Bridge/Blue River area. It's about a 6 minute/9 mile drive from blue River Reservoir to the start of Aufderheide Dr.

(Edit: I have no idea why it gives directions to 'McKenzie School District', but this is where Aufderheide starts. This is a weird google glitch I've seen in rural mapping before.)

Aufderheide Dr. starts just after the Cougar Dam Rd. turnoff from the McKenzie Highway, but goes quite a ways out into the woods, leading visitors to Cougar Dam/Cougar Falls, and even further, Terwilliger/Cougar hot springs and Terwilliger Falls, which are very popular and well-traveled, along with several campgrounds.

Would love to know which stretch of Aufderheide this UID was found, to know if it's more likely they were a resident of a now burned out home, or if the burn scar area was used as a "convenient" cover to burn and dump a body long after the wildfires. I hope DNA analysis is already being carried out and there will be answers soon. MOO.

Thank you. This is very good, detailed information. I could not locate a final count of the people still missing from the Holiday Farm Fire but it's quite possible UP is one of them. I'm sure authorities will do everything possible to identify. Staying hopeful for Shane and his family.

There are no more missing people from the fire. Only one person is known to have died from the fire. Although there are a lot of camping areas along Aufderheide. There have been two separate fires that went through there in different years (one never reached any homes). If that is where the person was found, it could have been someone camping there. What's odd is that it has the location as McKenzie Bridge, an area not affected by the Holiday Farm Fire and at least a town away from the mapped location. Aufderheide is between Blue River and Rainbow and runs southward to the town of Oakridge. It's more of a logging type road/byway, mostly gravel.

What else is odd is that I can find nothing about a body being found during that time period. Nothing in the news, either area wide or the McKenzie news. There are a few missing men in the area, and any time a body is found even remotely close, people question and confirm/deny. There is nothing I can find locally.

Shane is still missing.
