This reminds me a little of Jennifer Kesse. The whole not arriving to work, coworkers wondering where you are, early morning hours, young pretty girl in a happy relationship, something strange occurring with the car after you've gone missing.

Isn't that about when they said phone was turned off, or did I read something wrong...

I think that is why the prep would have disposed her cellphone at the 1st site and then came-over to fill the gas-tank and plan on what to do next (on the 2nd site).

is there a timeline in the thread anywhere yet? i think im going to get confused soon!

Neighbor spoke with missing Gresham woman night before she disappeared. Says Whitney Heichel was tired and not feeling well. #findwhitney

I moved to Oklahoma about 4 months ago, other than that, grew up in Oregon. Most stations swipe your card right there at the pump, and tell you if declined right there too. You can only get cash back if you prepay inside. The one place I ever experienced being told to prepay inside was in Woodburn.

I'm in California, but we visit often with my SIL who lives in Oregon. I know that you don't pump your own gas in OR, but I always jump out at the gas station anyhow. Habit not easy to overcome.

If the guy kept trying to use the card, I wonder if it was because he was from out of state? Kid of seems like he wasn't after gas, but wanted cash back. Not being from Oregon, he wouldn't know that and kept trying? But if Whitney was sitting beside him, maybe that doesn't make sense after all.

The gas station attendant seems to think it was her- is there a verification of this with cameras? At 9:15 it could be anyone...

I live in southern OR and the big crime around here now: druggies breaking into cars to steal anything not nailed down including change. I am wondering if someone smashed the window to break into her car and she surprised him. She starts to yell and he grabs her and realizes that he can force her to get money... He drives around looking for a secluded ATM or gas station thinking that he will find one unmanned/no witnesses and get some money with her info. He is too nervous and that is why he is hopping around to the different stations??

You aren't allowed to pump your own gas here- and most gas stations attendants give you the evil eye if you even get out of your car.

O/T: Verdict reached in Elizabeth Johnson/Baby Gabriel case.

Verdict to be read @ 3 Arizona time.

The multiple stops for gas could be explained by the stations in question either not offering additional cash withdrawals or limited withdrawals on debit card purchases.

Sorry if this has already been answered but I'm still catching up. If he pulled up to the pump for gas and used a debit/ credit card, he could not get cash back at the pump. Doesn't work that way here. From the information we have been given so far, it sounds like he didn't get out and go inside to pay and even if he had, gas stations have very small cash back limits. I guess if your super desperate it might make sense but to leave someone in the car that you have kidnapped (or whatever) for $10 cash back seems beyond stupid.

The only other thing that you can buy at a gas station without getting out and going into the attached mini-mart are cigarettes and this is only at a few gas stations that don't have their own stores. Generally, they have a little kiosk among the pumps with a cash register and cigarettes where the attendant sits and waits for customers That is a big Shell that I think probably has a mini-mart attached, I doubt you could buy cigarettes without going in.

OT-OT-OT-OT

I wish every state had this rule about not pumping your own gas-would add jobs and make me so happy (I am disabled and it is such a painful task). Not to mention, seems safer at night.

As far as we know she could have told the perp I have no money on my card until I get paid.Maybe he was testing it out at the gas pumps and nervous about her screaming or leaving he got just small amounts of gas. With the seats found down in the back I wonder if he did have a bike.I think this was a crime for cash since he went to the ATM.

Her vehicle is pretty large. I wonder if the perp broke the glass as a means to enter the vehicle and then hid in the back until WH entered, at which time he overtook/surprised her.

When I was a new driver, my aunt always warned me to look into the backseat of my car when entering to make sure some creepo wasn't hiding there ready to attack.

My profile of the perp is a 20-30 year old tweaker who rides a bicycle and lives in the trailer park northwest of the Walmart. Thin, dark hair, bad skin. Dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
