To locals what are the temperatures during the night there? I would love to think she got away from here and walking around on that mountain.

Low 40s in the past few nights. Our weather turned from decent to rain/cold about a week ago now. Though yesterday and today have been sunny (around mid-60s during the day), but it's supposed to get rainy again tonight.

I *highly* doubt it doesn't have cams. I'd be shocked if it truly does not have them. I could be wrong. I'd go check this one out, but it's rush hour right now and that Walmart is about 15 miles from me.

How did they get the 11:17am time for when the vehicle was put there? Possibly by a cam from another business, but..

ETA: I'm curious as to what you mean by "different", but that's OT, so nevermind.

Trying to get caught up on this thread, but earlier when someone asked about surveillance tapes of the Wal-Mart parking lot, I was thinking that they only use real-time cameras that scan the parking area, not recorded footage. I believe that's true of most retailers. Seems like it's been discussed before in other cases. But, I could be wrong.

The perp could have parked her car in the outer portion of plot, right off of Sandy BLVD. I doubt Walmart cameras are placed that far out. Maybe he turned into Walmart from NE 238 and the Taco del Mar or Burger King camera caught the vehicle driving by? I dunno, getting cross-eyed from looking at maps.

Her vehicle is pretty large. I wonder if the perp broke the glass as a means to enter the vehicle and then hid in the back until WH entered, at which time he overtook/surprised her.

When I was a new driver, my aunt always warned me to look into the backseat of my car when entering to make sure some creepo wasn't hiding there ready to attack.

This reminds me of the murder of Sarah Hansen in western KY. Sarah went into a video store and her killer entered her vehicle while she was inside. He hid in the backseat and overtook her when she returned to the vehicle. She was brutally raped and murdered. Since then I've always checked the backseats in my car before I get in.

Woodall in 1998 pleaded guilty to killing 16-year-old Sarah Hansen after abducting her from a convenience store in Greenville in western Kentucky. A jury sentenced him to death for the murder plea and life in prison for kidnapping and rape.

Hansen, a member of the National Honor Society, vanished on Jan. 25, 1997, after going to the store to rent a movie with plans to return home and watch it with her boyfriend. About two hours later, police began searching for Hansen before finding the minivan she was driving at Luzerne Lake, about a mile and a half from the store.

Officers followed a 500-foot long blood trail from the van to the lake, where they found Hansen’s unclothed body floating and her throat slashed. DNA, fingerprints and footprints led to Woodall. His case was later moved to Caldwell County because of pretrial publicity.

I hope this didn't happen to Whitney. Prayers for her safe return.

IMO. There was no girl with him.. He was alone..IMO

here ya go I know i read it here!

They said that gas station attendants at one of those locations -- a truck stop in Troutdale - remembered seeing her SUV and said Heichel as sitting in the passenger seat with a man driving. They said the man was acting suspicious and hurried, buying only a small amount if gas.

Someone on one of those pages says that the Walmart in question does NOT have cameras...

I worked for Walmart for 15 1/2 years and was on the Safety and Loss Prevention Team for 10 of those years...All Walmarts have cameras but not all of them are live cameras. Some of them are dummy cameras on the inside of the building but all cameras outside are live cameras. Some of the cameras installed today are a lot smaller than what they used to be so don't be fooled into thinking Walmart doesn't have cameras.

Another possibility is that the car was dropped off at Larch Mountain and was stolen from there. Cars are stolen from this area ALL of the time!

By mapping the tree line, the reflection in the car and the pylons I think it was found here

Wow that is right next to the trailer park.

(The other Find Whitney FB was pulled off from FB. That mod bad grammar and bad spelling) - Just my opinion - nothing else.

KGW just showed the front of her apartments on TV. Did we already know the name? Are we allowed to say it? I mean, it was on TV.

Been searching Larch Mountain all day.

We have unintelligible CSI and Mult County.

MCSO has a plane up in the air, assisting in search.

Starbucks and Walmart very helpful

Rumor, have not found a body, that is absolutely false.

Significance of things found at Larch Mountain. Will not discuss, but they are important.

I believe that the attendant remembered it that way. I guess I just don't believe that there was a female in the passenger seat or at least don't believe that if there was one, it was Whitney.

MOO and a bag of chips, ya know?

Will not say what led them to Larch Mountain but they are sure it was there.
