I have never seen two people stand further apart

With the exception of the pic where he saw her in her wedding gown, I have to say they look contrived. I know this 'pose' is physically far apart, but their eyes and smiles are distant just the same.

It angers me and saddens me so much (I'm assuming here) But I feel like Whitney had probably saved herself for Clint and this monster to go attack her force himself on her and then murder her, for his own selfish sick reasons. I think she fought hard and so the shooting had to do with his anger and not getting his way. So sad for Whitney and her family. I hope and pray they do find comfort one day!

I have no doubt you are probably right. I imagine he was the only man she'd been with and to know this guy used her disgusts me.

From what I understand, the JW's don't believe in education all that much because of end times approaching. This information came to me from an ex-member. He was left with huge issues from growing up in this church, so you have to take what he said with a grain of salt. Still, I've not met any JW's with more than a grade school education, although some do go to college...but very few.

I'm not sure what Whitney and Clint's post high school education have to do with her murder but since it's being discussed, it's better to get the scoop from a current "insider" than speculate.......
I think the choice to attend college or not may depend on a lot of different factors, the job market in the locale being one. I live in NJ, am a JW and know hundreds of JW's. Some go to college (in my specific area it's not "very few"- maybe 30-40% of the young people I know at this time), some go to trade school, some become self employed, some just plain "get jobs". It's all good tho bc I can say this.... of all the JW's I know, I can't name one that is able-bodied and doesn't support themselves fully.
And, yes, take with a grain of salt, as you said, the word of an "ex member" of ANY organization who left with "huge issues".

I am certain this was done on purpose to show the sun shining through between them to make for a more beautiful photograph.

Yeah I noticed that, it still looked awkward.

I actually think this was an artistic fail on the photographer's part. I wouldn't even show this one publicly, because everything about it is so awkward.

I guess I just don't see it. Other than he looks young and derpy, I don't see distance, I don't see fear or insecurity. These wedding photos don't seem any different from most I see.

Another thing that's oddly coincidental to me...from this article:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/whitney-he...s-husband-asks/story?id=17534209#.UIWjUYVTu-F

"...they found his fingerprints and DNA in her recovered car.

Clint Heichel said that the married Holt lived in his apartment complex, and they attended the same church. Heichel said that he and his wife cared for the Holts' plants and cats when they were away. Two weeks ago, Heichel helped Holt jump-start his motorcycle."

I know when jump-starting vehicles, sometimes two people are interchangeably on or in the two vehicles involved, messing with battery terminals, hoods, and acceleration. I wonder if Clint used Whitney's SUV to jump-start Holt's motorcycle? If so, while we can't know for sure who was behind the wheel at any point during that exchange, I wonder if authorities have considered that as an alternative reason for Holt's DNA being in her car?

Hi Crazymom...here's a portion of that link...it's quite long and I couldn't paste it all from the browser. But if you go to Katu.com, go to the "interactive map" of where he took her SUV, it'll direct you to a link that says "Katu full-coverage of this case". Scroll to October 20th when LE announced they found her body.

I'd like to know how JW's found his license plate and know to go up there? Anyway...is a small portion:

Police said detectives found her personal belongings in a dumpster in a nearby shopping center. On Wednesday, a church-organized search team found a license plate and other evidence on Larch Mountain.

On Thursday, police found additional evidence from Heichel's SUV on Larch Mountain. And on Friday, police said crime lab evidence tied Holt to her vehicle.

They were simply searching. They didn't know to go up there, they just checked as much as they could. or maybe the got a tip from LE.

I thought I read the church groups knew early on about the gas purchase (from Clint), and used it to calculate how far in various directions the SUV could have made it and then back to WalMart. On iPad right now, don't have a link handy. Maybe a write up from the day after arrest?

I thought that was so that the sun would shine through... BUT..
Even the pic of them at the altar looked like too much space...
Were they told to stand like that?
Ya just ca't keep 2 people in love that far apart!

I'd like to know what the security cameras show. If it shows her sitting next to him in the SUV as they got gas....why didn't she just jump out? If she was taking him to work out of a good act...getting gas at that station (I'm right down the street from it) is out of her way to her Starbuck's or her apartment. And if I'm offering to take someone to work, I'd be driving, not the other party. Don't get it :(
If it was Whitney alive, and not Holt's wife as has been suggested, he was probably holding a gun on her, or she just stayed out of fear.
Also, we don't know that she offered to drive him, he could've just jumped her with the gun in the parking lot of the apartment.

WARNING, GRAPHIC:

Coincidental, sort of. But I'm going to take a guess and think that the DNA they recovered was, to say it delicately, products of ejaculation. MOO. :yuck::puke:

Can that be proven that it was during a sexual assault?

Here's another link from The Oregonian...and I pasted a portion of it again:

http://www.oregonlive.com/gresham/index.ssf/2012/10/post_14.html

Junginger provided a timeline of the investigation, but authorities would not answer any questions on the case Friday.
He said Gresham detectives got involved when family and friends discovered Heichel's Ford Explorer, with one of its windows broken, at about 1 p.m. Tuesday parked at the Wood Village Wal-Mart. By 3:30 p.m. investigators began searching around the Wal-Mart and found some of Heichel's belongings in a trash bin in the parking lot.
Later that day, investigators found more of Heichel's belongings in a trash bin at a nearby shopping center. Around the same time, they received information that the SUV had been driven into Clackamas County soon after her disappearance.
Junginger said a search team organized by the Heichel family's church found "additional evidence" late Tuesday near Dodge Park, but he would not elaborate.

At that point, he said, the Multnomah County major crimes team and the Oregon State Police got involved in the investigation.
Wednesday, officers began searching the Heichels' apartment complex and obtained surveillance video. They also began searching Dodge Park, Junginger said.
Meanwhile, the family's search team found a license plate and other "items of interest" on Larch Mountain, he said. So authorities began to search there as well.

So I wonder who tipped of the JW's as to where to search. Did Holt confess to them first?

Showing my age here, having done photo shoots for album covers, I thought that the picture was a reject at best, granted I know when I am shooting, a roll of film.digital can be shot in seconds, however there is no way I would have clicked for that one.

But the article did say "fingerprints and DNA"--so, if the DNA was hair or skin cells, and not your delicate suggestion...then I wonder, still, if the jump-start could be the 'cause' of this...

I look at the pictures and the video interviews...and there's something off, to me. Holt, with no prior offenses other than a couple minor traffic infractions, looks like someone who's absolutely had the rug pulled out from under his feet--completely overwhelmed, scared (for himself and maybe loved ones), and anxious/suicidal--to me he doesn't come across as the type who'd be a cold-blooded killer pumping (supposedly pre-meditated) multiple gunshots into this little gal. Her husband looks dead pan...which could read 'shell-shocked' in a sense, but in another...I can't quite get a consistent read on him. He seems very contained, almost detached (calling her "a lively little person")...even when breaking down at the news conference--his face contorted but I saw no tears. I'm not making accusation here...it's more a personality read, from body language and verbal and nonverbal expression.

ETA: Another thing that's off...who, in committing a crime of passion, stops twice for gas and twice for ATM purchases using the victim's card in her own town? That's almost overkill in establishing clues...

No...they didn't....here's another link from The Oregonian...plus a copy/paste I did:

I remember reading the same thing Thess. Sorry I don't have a link, but I do remember that. I was so impressed with what a terrific job they did searching.

The sighting of Whitney in the passenger seat was at a truck stop (T/A Truck Plaza) which is way down just the other side of Troudale near I84. It's near the Troutdale Air Park...there's a small industrial area near there...could he have worked down in there?

At any rate...that's where the attendant said he noticed her in the SUV...and she was alive at that point.
