Have any of you guys read "The Shack?" After reading it it makes it a little easier to stomach cases like this. I don't know if it's "true," but it sure lends some comfort in horrible situations such as this. I don't know what JWs would think of this book, but I sincerely hope HE (whomever that may be) was with sweet Whitney in her final moments.

I thought I read that Clint had told le to look at Holt.

I think it was posted but IIRC it was never stated from LE as fact

i am interested to hear about holts previous disappearing acts and if they coincide with any other missing or murdered people...

I hope the LE are too.

BBM. And yes, to answer your question. Portland and the outlying communities are known for meth problems. They issues are HUGE here. :(

I also wonder if they would test him? Hmm.

BBM

I know here in AZ., drug testing is done when getting booked into jail.
I would think (ok, I guess I am assuming) that is the policy of every jail in the US.

My personal faith is centered in Christ so I don't know about the JW religion.

Just to let you know, Jehovah's Witnesses' faith is centered on God's son, Jesus Christ. He is our leader and Savior.

There are 2 facts i find very disturbing. Aside from the crime of course. As i posted earlier it was reported on HLN earlier that Holts wife was upset when she learned of Whitneys disappearance that morning and couldn't locate her husband. The second that she was concerned enough (I believe a year ago) to call police that he was missing. I'm not saying she knew anything. Not saying that at all. In fact her life must be and likely has been he77 :moo:

I can't help thinking that J would have appeared agitated if he was armed with bad intentions when he asked for a lift. Obviously he didn't give off those vibes. He must have been cool and casual - which is rather disturbing! Also, where would he have got those drinks from early in the morning? Is that normal? Are there 24 hour liquor stores in the USA?

I don't think we know for sure those Four Loko were his. It is just some garbage that was found in the area. For all we know, they could have been left by kids last summer.

First post... My daughter, who lives in Illinois, was asking me questions about what happened to Whitney and was telling me how sad she was about it. Since I live just over the bridge in Washington state, I offered to go place a card and flowers from her at the Starbucks where Whitney worked. There was a nice place set up outside with tables for people to leave flowers, cards, candles and pictures. So heartbreaking... Said a prayer and thought of all of you here, too. I've never done anything like that before.

personally its nice to see people from all walks or life current jws previous jws all caring about Whitney and her family the terrible truth is that this was done not by a complete stranger but by someone she knew and most likely trusted to a certain extent this type of thing can happen to any person any time of day and i for one am thankful that everyone came together so fast as a community and that LE took it serious enough to begin to take action right away!! I always thought you had to wait 24 hours to report someone missing and so i feel it was a blessing i follow many many cases on here where families are left with doubt and no closure at all and their loved ones are still missing i pray for justice and feel some comfort in knowing that during this hard time there is a good support system in place for many folks out there

I know right poor girl gets married husband dissapears making her worry enough to file a police report. I imagine her life was very diffcult with him. I think she is counting her blessings more so now after realizing how horrible of a person he is. I feel badly for her the embarssment, sadness, confusement so many emotions she has to be going through and I hope she knows no one is looking at her and blaming her for anything or judging her in anyway. She's probably going to need counceling and a good support system to help her through this. He could have snapped and hurt her or ended her life.

The 8 o'clock news PDXtv
Holt will be back in court Friday.
"It's unclear if Holt and his wife are still together"
Holt was working for at Canteen Vending Services on Swan Island. Workers were told not to talk to them.
Manager at Holt's workplace said all of this has been very tough on her staff (off-camera).

"and why the hell did he shoot her 4 times"

- because in his demented mind she made him become obsessed with her, this is all her fault, she drove him to this point ... and it was his way to end this nightmare from within. JMO

he aint right!

And yes, I am furious at his selfish actions. What an evil person JH is. JMO

It sure does make me want to know much more about JH. Doesn't you?
I really would like to see his wife or family come forward and be interviewed. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. But if I was a betting woman, I would bet his wife/family had some very strong concerns regarding his behavior.

IMO

In Oregon, the DOC randomly tests 3% of inmates every month. As far as I know, they do not test all arrested individuals. They can't even keep most of the arrested population housed in the county jails because they are so full. Most people that are arrested for drug charges are released back into the population within a matter of days until their trial, after which a large percentage gets probation. People on probation/parole are randomly tested, as well.

I do not think the Four Lokos were his either. If he wanted to get drunk why wouldn't he just drink hard alcohol or something else? Four Loko is seriously disgusting and I think most people who drink it are younger kids. The old version of Four Loko was a huge "drinking fad" for high schoolers and college age students around 2009-2010 because it got people very wasted and more likely to blackout when drinking. Since then the formula has been changed and it just isn't as popular anymore because it still tastes terrible but it doesn't get you as "messed up" as it used to so why not just drink something else? They were probably left over from someone else. I just don't see this guy planning on abducting WH and his drink of choice for the occasion being Four Loko - it would more likely be a stronger alcohol or hard drugs (meth?).
