Was this in Aug 2011? Anyone remember this?

What happened to CH that he was called to come to the hospital for?

Oct 16th he was RECOVERING from flu like sympoms
He WAS ILL and not working when WH was abducted...

I get the heebie jeebies.... just thinking... something was going on with JH prioir to all of this happening.

FWIW I am of the opinion Clint may have been a "victim" previously and not even aware of it!
Was JH trying to "off" him?

Didn't get this video, but just reading all the interview statements, I also get the feeling he is very conscious of every word he's saying. What he says has a somewhat rehearsed sense to it.

That's beautiful. Very very kind of him to give her a hug and be so understanding.

I'm glad to hear that both of them go to their meetings and get support. I was worried AH might just hide now and just collapse into depression or something. It's good she stays connected with friends.

The term 'breakdown' is vague and a bit archaic. But...two things are true. First, the young, 20-something male is the most typical person for succumbing to a certain type of illness that could have these types of irrational mental lapses (ie. schizophrenia). Secondly, mental problems do most often come after compressed periods of significant change in a life. You mentioned he'd just finished up his studies; he'd also just married (2010) and set up house with his new wife, and converted to her religion. Life stress points include positive change as well as negative change--those changes alone (changing job, marital status, one's faith, and also moving) have him past the 'critical' score on the life stress charts. Not saying I know this is what happened, but I would say if he did start to slide into mental illness, it also wouldn't surprise me (and I wouldn't be quick to say he was just claiming that for an excuse to be despicable). We have two mental health professionals in the family as well as our fair share of reasons why family members got interested in that field. Firsthand experience changes your outlook on how you formerly viewed people with 'mental problems.'

Been reading everyone's posts for the last couple of days. I think "life stress points" is a valid point. I read that his parents divorced recently. I believe the beginning of the year. Maybe that contributed to his state of mind a little bit? But also i Have been reading news story after news story and the comments as well... in the comment section below one of the locals stories(ugh i wish i had the link, i can't remember which one, one of the local tv stations i think) somebody said that they knew JH, had met him and was known to be "slow" due to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Is anyone familiar with that? Or read anything similar? I looked up some of the symptoms that manifest in adult sufferers and he seems to fit it. Impulsive, living in the "now", highly disorganized, hypersexual etc. Any thoughts? I definitely think something is up with his mental state as the crime seems so out of the blue and disorganized. I hope its ok if i post that. As i said i'm new

I am not sure. He graduated from from highschool wih over a 3.0 GPA and was an EMT ~ a least he finished the course... never worked as an EMT AFAIK

In my research on FAS I found that the IQ range is from 29-140. "Slow" could also be on a social, behavioral and judgement basis. It is a spectrum disorder similar to autism...where u can have a wide range of people with the disorder, some very disabled, some presenting as quite "normal"
So it seems possible that he could be on the higher end but with his judgement being affected on a developmental level. Just a theory that I am throwing out there but it would make sense as to why he was so disorganized etc like I said

I do remember reading at her FB that she went to have blood work done and
my first thought was maybe she's pregnant now. But I never found out for sure what it was.

One of her FB friends asked her if she were "baby sick" - WH responded that the time didn't
seem to be right (or something like that). I got the feeling they were trying, but nothing had happened yet.

You know this whole case makes me think of Holly Bobo for some reason, and that she could have been a victim of a similar kind of abduction by someone known to her in a similar manner.

Also,this case reflects how little time the victim is generally alive after going missing; in Whitney's case, probably less than the two hours before she was reported, and in Jessica and Autumn cases, they were probably long dead before they were even reported. Again, makes me wonder about Holly. Too many places to hide bodies.

I understand the desire to get insight into the type of person he is. It's just that...criminals come in all types and boxes. Like Ronso (?) was saying before, just because someone might or might not watch (ie. might or might not admit to it, or be discovered watching it), or peep in empty rental houses, etc., it doesn't mean he's therefore the 'type' to have done this sex-related crime. And it really doesn't follow that he necessarily is guilty of what he's accused of then in this particular case. So even if you could imagine all kinds of terrible 'other' scenarios he could've been involved in, it doesn't mean he did this particular crime or any other, for that matter. (His actual guilt is not even ironclad if he himself admits to doing a crime--as he did in this case).

I get what you're saying. I don't personally believe that he has committed a crime of this magnitude before. I just don't get that from his reaction in his mug shots and his behavior on camera during the arraignment. I could be wrong, though. I do feel that 8/2011 is pretty significant, however, in diving deeper into the type of person he was. I know my husband would have never pulled a stunt like that, even if he DID need to get away. The whole 12 hours missing scenario, added with the rental property story, is just very odd.

I DO believe that he murdered WH. I just don't understand WHY and I guess we may never know.

I too don't think we'll ever know why. Because it's just senseless. Whatever the reasoning (if there was any) to a normal person it holds no logic. Whether he was obsessed with her sexually, or angry, whatever...Senseless..its the only word I can come up with.

FWIW, I think some of the speculation in this thread about the rental house and old police report of a previous "breakdown" and whether or not he was even killing/covering-up the year prior (yada, yada) is off track in a thread about Whitney's case. It encourages a discussion about what anyone on here can possibly imagine the accused 'could do' (and y'all have some great imaginations), rather than examining the facts/evidence of the case for which this thread is named. So, to me at least, it's distracting...and I confess, a little uncomfortable to read. (I feel like I'm sitting at my mother-in-law's house listening to her gossip about the neighbors. *sigh* Yeah, I know that's my issue, not yours. And I am well aware that that is not a popular position to take on here, but again, so be it. 'Nuff said.)

I'm sorry you find some of our posts distracting and uncomfortable to read.

Also, another remark about the video...I think he realizes that every.single.move.he.makes, and every.single.word.he.says. is being analyzed to the most minute of detail, as when he said make sure you go to bed friends each night (which is sound, solid advice) but you can kind of tell he probably thought "great people are going to read into THAT" and so he followed up by saying he was glad that he and WH were able to do that.

My heart breaks for him.

I could understand the scrutiny of Clint had he not been ruled out as a suspect, but he has! He is nothing more than a grieving husband, and should be accorded respect as such.

Some of the things I have Googled or searched for on search engines over the years because of Webslueth would be enough to get me arrested and convicted if my wife were to disappear even if her body was never found.

Perhaps I should buy a new computer and destroy the hard drive in this one before I have to explain who 'Joe Friday' is to the local LE should anything to her, God forbid.
