This is completely OT but more a WS user question...I have responded to a few PM's and then today I went to my sent messages box and they are empty...how do I know if they got'em??? Why aren't they there?

if this is not okay to post because it's way way OT, I can delete. lol

I've never seen anything in my "sent" box but the messages still get there, FWIW.

You can change your remote to only unlock the drivers door. It is a very simple thing to do that is very much to your advantage. It is one of the first things we do when purchasing a new vehicle. It is just too risky to unlock all doors at once. It only takes a second to hit the unlock button a second time to unlock all the doors.

Please tell me how? Mine unlocks not all doors but the driver and passenger at the same time. I'd like to change that if I could. Would it be in the operating manual for the vehicle?

I do remember reading at her FB that she went to have blood work done and
my first thought was maybe she's pregnant now. But I never found out for sure what it was.

One of her FB friends asked her if she were "baby sick" - WH responded that the time didn't
seem to be right (or something like that). I got the feeling they were trying, but nothing had happened yet.

The night before she disappeared she had dinner at her folks' house. Her mother said they talked about some upcoming family event and also how much Whitney was looking forward to having children.

That night she also talked to a neighbor who said Whitney was 'tired and not feeling very well.'

These both came from news articles (can find the links if needed).

However, if PG that would likely have been apparent in the autopsy findings, and seems that would have also affected counts of murder (? or does that vary by state?)

How to program the locks should be in the manual. You can try Googling the make of your vehicle and "program locks" or "lock settings" also.

Here is how to reprogram the 98 Explorer locks if you have a keyless entry pad. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Keyless_Entry_Keypad_FAQ_Ford_Explorer

I understand the desire to get insight into the type of person he is. It's just that...criminals come in all types and boxes. Like Ronso (?) was saying before, just because someone might or might not watch 🤬🤬🤬🤬 (ie. might or might not admit to it, or be discovered watching it), or peep in empty rental houses, etc., it doesn't mean he's therefore the 'type' to have done this sex-related crime. And it really doesn't follow that he necessarily is guilty of what he's accused of then in this particular case. So even if you could imagine all kinds of terrible 'other' scenarios he could've been involved in, it doesn't mean he did this particular crime or any other, for that matter. (His actual guilt is not even ironclad if he himself admits to doing a crime--as he did in this case).

(I think I'm begining to see why I always get picked for juries... sorry!)

I'm confused. Are you saying you don't believe his confession?

I only saw the black screen before, as well, but was able to view it once I went into the Video Tab and then into Featured Videos. Once there I was able to watch it. :seeya:

Looks can be decieving and everyone wants to be seen as a perfect couple. Especially someone who is in a religous organization that values that purity. Anything other than being perfect may have been looked down on.

As a JW I feel I have to respond to this. I think your view of how closely JW's are "watched" by our congregation elders, or other members is a bit skewed. I have a facebook page and I present my life exactly as it is, which is pretty bland as I'm 48 yo mother of 4. But I've seen the fb pages of some younger JW's and some post pix that uh, surprise me a bit. W/o going into detail they show scenes of a lifestyle that, if I were their parent I'd worry. I've even seen some adults who have pix up that make me go, "uh, OK". Being honest here. Soooooo my point is Whitney DID NOT have to stage some *FAKE* lifestyle on fb so that she would be viewed as "pure" by others looking on fb. I cringe at the idea that people think we are "Stepford Christians" constantly looking over our shoulder waiting to be flogged if we don't measure up to "perfect" standards. Whitney would not be feeling such a intense pressure from our religion so as to go out of her way to create a facebook impression (of all things!) that was a complete facade. The thought actually makes me laugh.
It also makes me wonder.... is there so much badness in the world that when we see something or someone truly good we automatically think it's too good to be true and figure there must be something foul hidden underneath? :waitasec:

In my research on FAS I found that the IQ range is from 29-140. "Slow" could also be on a social, behavioral and judgement basis. It is a spectrum disorder similar to autism...where u can have a wide range of people with the disorder, some very disabled, some presenting as quite "normal"
So it seems possible that he could be on the higher end but with his judgement being affected on a developmental level. Just a theory that I am throwing out there but it would make sense as to why he was so disorganized etc like I said

I understand what you're saying. There's a recent (2012) conviction of a rapist/murderer in raleigh, nc, of Jason Williford. His crime was brutal, very violent. He came into the trial admitting he did it, but in his defense, they tried for "mitigating circumstances" based on influences of alcohol and drugs (snorted Ritalin) and a history of being "off" to account for his hyper sexual deviancy and actions that night. In some ways, I think JH may have similar issues....a very, very messed up guy with deep disturbances culminating in violent acting out. This guy in NC had broken into houses (seeking an adrenaline rush from the crime), and would watch 🤬🤬🤬🤬 in the houses he broke into. He was not unintelligent, but was socially awkward (that's an understatement), and had a history of anger, rage, and secret perverted, deviant hyper sexual behavior. It's a horrific case. I wonder if we'll find out this guy has similar deep issues.

IMO it's possible some "crime" had occured there and he was "checking" or "revisitiing" the scene.
moo

this all kinda makes me worry...

I think WH's FB has been deleted... (I can't find it)

Some of us saw a posing about her needing bloodwork and kidneys stones.
Was this in Aug 2011? Anyone remember this?

What happened to CH that he was called to come to the hospital for?

Oct 16th he was RECOVERING from flu like sympoms
He WAS ILL and not working when WH was abducted...

I get the heebie jeebies.... just thinking... something was going on with JH prioir to all of this happening.

FWIW I am of the opinion Clint may have been a "victim" previously and not even aware of it!
Was JH trying to "off" him?
then gave up and took WH?

:cow:

FWIW, there has been a flu going around the Portland area in the last few weeks.

****clapping and throwing confetti****
Thaaaaaank you for that (and for being more eloquent then I was haha). I am sitting here with one eyebrow up on some of the things people say and infer about JWs on here Lolol.

Snipped and Bolded By Me

As long as the posts are within websleuths rules, and until a moderator says otherwise,
I'm sure speculating, theorizing and discussing one's thoughts on the cases is perfectly normal and is allowed.

I'm sorry you find some of our posts distracting and uncomfortable to read.
There are other websites that are true-crime oriented at which you may be more comfortable.

Have you tried any of them?

Giving me the boot? ;)

Yes, I visit other crime websites as well.

I'm confused. Are you saying you don't believe his confession?

I'm saying some suspects confess to crimes they actually didn't commit (for a variety of reasons). Doesn't seem to make sense to us, but it does happen. I wouldn't be able to make a judgment about his guilt or innocence until knowing a lot more than I've learned up to now.

From the KGW interview above - the text below the video quotes:

"Clint Heichel said he knew Jonathan Holt and his wife as neighbors and they all attended the same church, but he never thought Holt was “obsessed” with Whitney, as a source previously told KGW.

He “seemed like a shy guy,” Heichel said.

Heichel said the Holts had watered their bonsai trees and the Heichels watched the Holts’ cats while each other were out of town in the past.

“We just tried to be the best people we could and not hold a grudge … there’s a bad sheep in every community … I don’t want to make a huge spectacle. What’s taken place is horrible, I'm just doing the best I can to keep moving forward without her,” he said.

I am a bit confused with the part i bolded. Does CH mean that he and Whitney didn't try to hold a grudge and that is why they were friendly and watched their cats? What grudge???? Was their something previous that we don't know about?

That is what it sounds like from his wording. But maybe the article is written poorly - or CH is just exhausted and saying he doens't hold a grudge now? But the 'WE" and past tense made me pause...
