GUILTY OR - Whitney Heichel, 21, Gresham, 16 Oct 2012 #6

Here are a few photos that I took today, at Whitney's Memorial Garden. The "Blue Girl" Rose is in full bloom and there are more buds forming. It is surprising how the colors change so fast from the bud stage, to the full bloom.

Sasquatch and La Louve:
Simply Beautiful! I am so in awe of the kindness and heart filled efforts you have put forth in honor of Whitney. You are definitely in line for the "pay it forward" story in life at least a hundred times over. So good things do come from the bad, and darkness to light... and I am honored to be a witness to that through both you and your gorgeous photos! And SAS the "Blue Girl" shows so perfectly brilliant against the rest of the garden. Thank you both for making our world a better place. I know Whitney and her family can only appreciate your selfless acts, as we all do. Thank you, again and again and again!

And Sasquatch, your post to Prairie Wind was summarily Perfection. It's hard to go over all that again after this long of wait for justice for Whitney. But, you did so brilliantly. Thank you for that! SEE POST #13 this thread.

Thank you Caffeinejean! I am touched that the garden has moved you so. This makes me so happy - and sad at the same time, you know? Bittersweet, maybe that's the word.

That latest photo of Whitney and Clint that Sasquatch so kindly posted, if she isn't the most beautiful light ever, I don't know who is. Some people are just pure light in this lifetime, they burn brightly but sadly not long enough. I am glad the garden is rippling out. It's taken on a beautiful life of its own. I would never have predicted it'd turned out how it has. Whitney is the reason I joined Websleuths and I have found a lovely community here. Sasquatch's wonderful writing and his loving efforts on Whitney's and her family's behalf moved me to share and I thank him for being so welcoming. I think of all the Websleuthers that have followed Whitney's case and always feel like we are all out there at Roslyn Lake together, bringing justice and peace and light and beauty.

I went out yesterday to water and look for the other viola and more glass. It took me a couple tries but I did finally find the other plant and moved it to the spot where the pansy expired a few weeks ago. It had a nicely developed root system so I hope it will adjust well to its new home. It looks like it might be another Lemon Sorbet viola, judging by the leaves. We shall see.

Met some new people yesterday, Amber and Trent, who had been out last Fall and planted a miniature rose on the north side of the turnout nearly opposite from the utility pole. They pulled in yesterday to look for it while I was down at the far end of the turnout looking for glass. They had known Whitney from the Starbucks - it seems like a LOT of people knew Whitney from that Starbucks.

At any rate, they couldn't find the rose so they left, and I went back to my glass collecting and soon they came back, she waving her cell phone shouting "I took pictures when we planted it!!". And sure enough by the pine tree in the grass on the berm, there was the rose. It had grown quite a bit but was completely overgrown by the grass. I loaned him my shovel and while he dug it up, I opened up the spot I had set aside for Lordeebee's plant a few weeks ago (sorry, Lordeebee, but we'll make another spot!) and we plopped their rose in. They had seen Whitney's garden recently and were so excited to be able to add their rose, as they had assumed it hadn't survived the winter. We had a nice visit chatting about Whitney, the garden, the elephants, and I so enjoyed meeting them. Amber said she would be coming by more regularly to help with watering too! Two more garden conspirators :D

I turned in all the glass I've found to the DA's office today. Sasquatch had reminded me Holt has a hearing this Thursday and I didn't want to take a chance mailing it. I had packed it in two padded envelopes, one for each area on the turnout where I recovered the glass. So I drove down to Oregon City this afternoon to the courthouse, which houses the DA's office, and dropped it off. They were very appreciative.

Attached is a garden photo from yesterday, showing the new rose plant (center) and the transplanted viola (lower right corner).

Both Bluegirl and the little mini I planted have lots of new buds forming. I think I counted at least four on each plant.

You are welcome Caffeinejean! Thank you for all of your kind words! I am also very happy that you love the garden and the "Blue Girl"Rose! I feel honored to be able to work on the garden and share updates with Whitney's family. It is also great to be able to share updates of the garden, here on Websleuths. La Louve has helped to create this wonderful project, and it has been great working along side her. It makes me happy to hear how the ripples keep on spreading! Hearing such positive feedback from you, makes a big difference, and means a lot to me. You have a big heart and you have dedicated a lot of your time to this case. So many of your tips have helped a lot of us connect the dots on many theories. So a Big Thank You, to you as well. Just know that the energy from your heart and others here on Websleuths, have helped to make the light shine, that much brighter!

And Sasquatch, your post to Prairie Wind was summarily Perfection. It's hard to go over all that again after this long of wait for justice for Whitney. But, you did so brilliantly. Thank you for that! SEE POST #13 this thread.

Thank you for your feedback and kind words again! I agree, that it has been a long wait for getting justice for Whitney. I had to definitely go back to my notes and skim through the Probable Cause Doc. It had been a while, since we had discussed some of these topics. I have always felt strong about that theory.

Wow! What wonderful post! Thank you for all of your kind words! I too, am so pleased with how the garden has turned out. The ripples are indeed spreading, and are having such a positive effect on many people. It is an honor to work along side you on this project. I am so happy to hear about the couple and their miniature rose. Your story about Amber and Trent planting the rose for Whitney, then finding it still alive in the brush is great. I can just imagine the look on their face when they found it. I am so happy that they were excited to plant it in Whitney's Garden. I remember on Monday, seeing the beautiful new rose and watering it. Every plant in that garden has a story. I am so glad that you were out there sharing some of those stories about the garden and Whitney, and creating more ripples! :)

Your description about Whitney's light and the photo are great. I remember so vividly her smile and kindness, and her light that did indeed shine so bright. So many of us have great memories of her from Starbucks, and she had a way of making kids feel special too.

Thank you for picking up more glass and taking it directly to the DA. I hope that all of this glass that we are finding and turning in, will help as evidence on this case. A lot of the glass had been sitting under water most of the Winter. It is sometimes tough to get some of the auto glass, because it can be stuck in the road grooves, under leaves and dried mud. When it rains, some glass fragments appear. Other times, it takes a mud puddle to dry up, for more glass to be more visible. Sometimes the afternoon sun will make the glass fragments sparkle, because of the different angle of the sun. It can definitely be tough on the legs and back, having to bend down to get those tiny particles of glass. Thanks again for taking time do that!

I too joined Websleuths because of Whitney. It has been such a great community. La Louve, it has been really great working with you, and learning from you on this project. I am learning so much about gardening, plants and flowers than I could have ever imagined. Your knowledge about all of these areas has been so helpful. Thank you also for saving that Viola! This journey to help find justice for Whitney, and helping to create a beautiful garden has been well worth it. I am so glad that the ripples are growing wider every day!

June 19th - KPTV "A man accused of shooting and killing a 21-year-old Gresham woman in a case that generated national attention is scheduled to change his plea. I hope whatever plea deal they made it doesn't include him ever walking out of the prison. It seems Oregon is pretty lenient with their murderers. Too many people who have killed are walking among us because of plea deals.

Another article about the Plea Deal from KATU:

Jun 19, 2013 - "The man accused of shooting to death a Gresham woman and then dumping her body on Larch Mountain last year will plead guilty to killing her, the woman's widower told KATU News Wednesday"..........."Heichel's widower, Clint, said the district attorney's office told him it is working on a deal with Holt and he will plead guilty to killing his wife."

Thank the Lord, and Hallelujahs are in order. The wait is almost over! :please:
I almost forgot how much I can't stand to look at that face for what it represents.

God bless Whitney, Clint, her family and friends with this, a small step toward solace and peace.

DairyGirl, you are right! He will not see the Death Penalty while he is in Oregon, but we can have justice if JH gets Life without Parole! I sure hope this is the case.

I agree 100%, Caffeinejean! It has been a long 8 months. Whitney deserves justice and her family and Clint do deserve one step closer toward closure and healing.

After seeing what Travis Alexander's family went through in the trial of Jodi Arias, I have to hope that this is the best outcome for all concerned. To have to go through a trial must be excruciating for the victim's loved ones.

I too hope Holt is never let out. And CaffeineJean, I was a little startled to see Holt's face again. After looking at so many beautiful photos of flowers and the garden, it was rather jarring.

Sasquatch, once again thank you for keeping us all up to date here and keeping Whitney's spirit at the forefront of all your posts. I'm honored to work with you on the garden.

You are welcome! Thank you La Louve! I am honored to work with you on the garden, too! It has also been an honor to work along side you and everyone here, as an advocate for Whitney, her family and Clint. I too, hope that this Plea Deal will spare her loved ones from the pain of a trial.

Since Oregon's governor has essentially eliminated the death penalty, that was really never on the table. I assume he will plead guilty in return for life with the possibility of parol. Scary. But the upside is that there will be no trial and no appeals for the family to have to deal with. It will be interesting to see what he pleads guilty to, and if he is required to provide details of the crimes. Will he plead guilty to the sexual assault as well or just the murder?

Yes on seeng that face again :banghead:

The article is dated the 19th and the caption under the photograph said it was from a booking photo on Sunday.

Does that mean the Sunday of the 16th prior? Or is that an earlier photograph?

Hi Glow!
Great to see you! I believe that the photo that I posted from KPTV's website, is the original October 21st, 2012 booking photo from Clackamas County. He was transferred to Clackamas County from Multnomah County on October 21st, 2012. On Friday, October 26th, a Clackamas County Grand Jury indicted Jonathan Holt on additional charges. The original probable cause document listed only 3 counts of Aggravated Murder, when he was transferred to Clackamas County. After the Friday Oct. 26th Grand Jury indictment, he was being charged with 6 counts of Aggravated Murder along with Kidnapping, Sodomy and 2 counts of Robbery.

Interesting thoughts, but I would have thought the death penalty was on the table along with the numerous charges filed in Multnomah County for encouraging child sex abuse and the theft charges (Hopefully we won't always have the same Gov and the vote of the people will be upheld). It appears that today was the day to firm up the plea deal in the Multnomah County charges before this plea for his life in Clackamas County. And looks like he was very much into sexual deviant behavior. So this guilty plea, in my mind better be to keep him locked up for life. He kidnapped, sodomized and murdered a beautiful girl, and he collected child 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Lock him up and throw away the key! :jail:
IMO it would be a travesty to even consider parole. I never want to see that face again!

Thanks Sasquatch!

I am curious to see a "fresh" picture of him...

to see if what atrocities he commited have settled in on him yet. I didnt think that picture was new.

Here are the two pictures I had saved in photobucket:

So it looks like they used a file photo?
