I can't find a book "Spiritual Medium-JonBenet Speaks" by Jane Gray Stobie on either Amazon, Barnes and Nobel or a Google search. The only thing that comes close is her book called "JonBenet's Gift".

People who are familiar with my style of thinking will probably not believe this, but I do give some credibility to SOME psychics.

In my opinion the genuine ones do not take money.

There is the very beginnings of a scientific explanation, sort of...quantum physics.

Time is not thought to go in a straight line, as we perceive it, more like a loop, or the past and the future are not consecutive. Psychics (arguably) are able to "see" the other side of the loop.

This would explain the patchiness and apparent randomness of their visions.

ITA. On the other side of this physical world, time is spherical, not linear or chronological. Everything that ever happened and everything that ever will happen is happening right now.
SapphireSteel, you might really enjoy the books "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls", both by PHD Michael Newton. A scientist, psychotherapist and FORMER atheist.
There is also a difference between psychics and Mediums. Some people are both. Psychics get "impressions' from people, places and things. A Medium gets information strictly from the dead. Some mediums are clairvoyant (see the dead) some are clairaudient (hear the dead) some are clairsentient- (feel the presence of or feel impressions from the dead). Some are all three.
The first Medium I ever knew was as a young girl. She was the grandmother of a good friend. We called her Nonni (Italian for Grandmother). She was adopted as an infant and she always said she wasn't sure she was actually Italian, but she was just as annoying as my own Italian Grandma, so she might as well have been. She was a very gifted Medium- she told me things that took years to happen and she was NEVER wrong, not once. She had three Spirit Guides, one of which was an Indian Chief. My own daughter used to see him when she was a toddler. Lost the ability as she got older, or he just stopped coming to my house. I am part Native American myself, so maybe that was why he was interested in me.
Nonni used to say there were three things you should never take money for (or you lose your talent) - having sex, telling jokes and speaking to the dead. She never took a dime her whole life, for the hundreds of people who came to see her.
She lived in an apartment upstairs from her granddaughter (my friend) and her house was not a place everyone felt comfortable. For one, she always knew if you were doing something you weren't supposed to be doing and she'd call you out on it when she saw you. I was ALWAYS getting yelled at. Another thing is that things used to ....move around... in her apartment. Things that weren't supposed to. She'd always say "just ignore them, they're showing off". But it was hard to ignore.

Derek Acorah still "tours" the UK doing shows. He hacked off the McCann lot by saying that his spiritual guide said Madeleine was dead not so long ago.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/new...0/TV-psychic-Derek-Acorah-Maddie-is-dead.html

He also did a televised "seance" to contact Michael Jackson

http://m.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radi...michael-jackson?cat=tv-and-radio&type=article

The guy is a total fruit loop. If psychics could honestly help in this case, or Madeleine McCann's then what is taking them so long to deliver the proof?

Well, I'd like to see one case where the psychic/medium etc actually contributed to the case being solved.

I think sometimes people mistake intuition and good profiling abilities with being psychic.

My gut instincts are more often than not correct I've found, not because I have a lot of guts ;) and not because I'm psychic, but because I pay attentions, remember things and listen.

I often wonder how people have Indian Spirit guides when the Indian people have a different belief system to the people who are being the psychics. Same for Mr Acorah who has an Ethiopian called Sam as his Spirit Guide. Like it somehow adds credibility.
Nobody's spirit guide is Warren, the guy from down the street, who died 5 years ago.
And they learn English in Heaven apparently.

The ones on TV give the other ones a bad (worse) name.
My major gripe being, Mr Acorah has been publicly discredited...yet he's still rich, famous and on tv peddling his 'talent'. Where is he on JBR?

I agree 100% and I can tell by what you've posted that you have knowledge about this.

LOL!

Small children often have psychic or medium abilities that get tuned out as "common sense" takes over.

I have a friend who had just such a child. They were visiting relatives and her daughter got up the next morning (age 5) and said "don't think I'm sleeping in THAT room again. It was full of people talking all night, and they WEREN'T VERY NICE!".
