Othram - General Discussion - #3

Here are some interesting cases that I can offer:

CA - CA - Helendale, Fem UP906, 15-22, in desert, missing toes, Sep'02
A young girl found in Helendale in 2002 with braces and possible surgery or deformity on her left foot.

CA - CA- Santa Monica, WhtMale, 18-26, UP4326, jumped from building, suicide note, morgue photo.
Man who committed suicide by jumping from a building in 1981 and had handwritten notes in his pocket.

SC - SC - Charleston Co, WhtFem 15-20, UP9998, Skeletal of unknown origin, July 1973
A teenage girl found in the body of an anthropologist in 1992, in Charleston County. Although it is assumed that the girl was found in July 1973 in Charleston County, or earlier.

The second person you suggested was found in Los Angeles County so his body would have been cremated at the start of 1985. Very little chance there's anything left to test for DNA.

Thank you for sharing these cases. We will see what we can do.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I will scream with joy if the Helendale and Charleston County Jane Does are identified by you (especially the Helendale Jane Doe)!!! You are great guys.💙

Maybe a small chance if he's one of these found in 2020 in the ME/Coroner office storage. Nobody knew they were there.

Any idea how old he was at the time he was killed? I'm guessing at the younger end of the age range, given the photograph looks 1970s.

On June 13, 2025, the victim was finally identified as 30-year-old Karl Brian Hooten of Vilonia. The photograph may have been provided by the family after he was identified, and might have been taken years before he died.

I guessed about '75 based on hair and clothing and filmstock, and that he looked about fifteen, so I was bang on right. I'm guessing it's a school photo from a prom or maybe a wedding.

If you haven't done so already, check out our new podcast:
Just listened to the trailer. I will be subscribing but am curious and have a question. The podcasts will all be about cold cases that have been solved by Othram or will there be cold cases presented that are still yet to be solved as well?

Great question. We are starting with solved cases because the episodes can include law enforcement and family members. We are excited to tell these stories in such a unique way -- from the perspective of the families, friends, and investigators.

We will also do ongoing cases but it is harder to get folks to agree to interview when the case is not solved yet.
