You might have heard of familial search (FS) and forensic genetic genealogy (FGG). Both methods use kinship relationships to generate investigative leads but differ significantly in scope and application. It's important not to confuse the methods!

Honored that Othram could assist the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office in identifying a 2022 Jane Doe as Ashley May Willis, born in 1987.

Honored that Othram could assist the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office & Wisconsin DOJ in the identification of a little boy, murdered in 1959, as 7-year-old Chester Alfred Breiney. We have to prioritize crimes against children.

David Rojas, 55, was found guilty this past Thursday by a Dallas County jury in the first genetic genealogy DNA murder trial in Dallas County. Othram DNA technology identified Rojas from decades-old evidence.

Pardon my confusion but has Othram always worked on children's cases?

If I remember correctly, there was a genetic genealogy company that refused to work on such cases.

I believe that's the DNA Doe Project, specifically in cases involving probable parental murder. Plenty of others work kid's cases.

We work all violent crimes. It would be absurd to withhold the technology, especially in unsolved crimes against children!

It indeed would be absurd to withhold technology, any kind of technology, that would help solve unsolved crimes against children.

I couldn't agree more! I couldn't remember which forensic lab had those specific parameters in place. Thanks for confirming.

Love all the work you do! :)
