Her remains were not found until 2014. This is the second child case solved as part of Project 525 and we thank RTI/NIJ/NamUs for funding the casework.

''In August 2008, an individual walking along the beach near the old Silver King Resort west of Port Angeles, Washington discovered a shoe containing a sock and what appeared to be human skeletal remains. Detectives with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and collected the items. Investigators with the King County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains found inside of the shoe were part of a human foot.

I’m wondering how typing perpetrators with regards to age is possible?

I’d be doing a test for methylation and telomeres to gauge the age range of the perpetrator, if that is possible (ref:Prediction of chronological age and its applications in forensic casework: methods, current practices, and future perspectives - PMC)

Sorry if you’ve been through this already, it seems like a potentially useful tool, if treated right.
