Othram - General Discussion - #3

Othram previously assisted the Orange County Sheriff's Department & FBI in identifying a 1983 homicide victim as Maritza Glean Grimmett. Investigators have now named her ex-husband and his current wife as persons of interest in her death.

For last 2 years we have offered rush service that enables us to build forensic DNA profiles in days instead of weeks or months like other vendors.

Now we are launching our "remains to relatives" service which produces a profile and genetic matches, in 24 hours! We expect to cut this to 8 hours by next year. The world of criminal justice and forensics is about to look very different.

Hi Othram, i saw your post on X / Twitter

and i'm still chuckling. Yours is a very high standard to beat indeed..... 😂😂😂
We depend on funding from the government and sometimes directly from the public (when we crowdfund) so it's super important that we can report impact from those dollars!

Outcomes over effort.

Honored that Othram could assist the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in identifying the suspect in the 1997 murder of Stephen Edenfield. The suspect was arrested yesterday and has been linked to another crime since this murder.

I have been looking for her for a very long time and was just in Weatherford this past summer where I inquired on the case. I am SO glad this has happened - thank you so much <3

Honored that Othram could assist the Jefferson County Medical Examiner's Office in identifying a 2002 John Doe as Darrell Moneyham. We are grateful to RTI, NamUs, and the NIJ for funding the casework.

In 2023, authorities submitted a sample to Othram, Inc. for Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing.

Othram developed a comprehensive DNA profile of a male of primarily African origin, Yates said.

Othram also provided the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office a report produced by their forensic genetic genealogy team containing leads as to multiple persons spread across the country who were genetically related to remains.

Othram developed the leads by searching genetic genealogy databases for people who share DNA with the victim

@othram brilliant job! I like that you post here. I had to stop getting updates from your FB page, it morphed into a location where people post every single case in existence, including those being worked by other companies. Sadly this means Othram solves and fundraisers get pushed down the feed very quickly.
