Bloomsburg Man Admits Involvement In OD Death

Sean C. Michaels had previously stated to local authorities that he messaged Ahmed Ragab about getting the drugs but that he was not the one who supplied Ragab with the fatal dose.

Michaels pled guilty to possession of heroin with intent to deliver and recklessly endangering another person. Prosecutors dropped the first degree felony charge of drug delivery resulting in death and involuntary manslaughter.

Michaels was sentenced in October:

The Court sentences the Defendant to pay the costs of prosecution and a fine of $400.00. He shall be incarcerated in the Columbia County Prison for a period of not less than 300 days nor more than 23 months, plus he shall be placed on probation for a period of 12 months to run consecutive to the aforesaid incarceration sentence. This is a split sentence. The Defendant is given credit for 300 days already served from October 8, 2016 through August 3rd, 2017 and is therefore paroled at this, the end of his minimum for the balance of his maximum term under the charge and supervision of the adult probation office according to regular and special conditions, including the special condition that he perform 40 hours of community service, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all treatment recommendations.
