PA PA - Alivia Kail, 19, Allegheny County, 5 March 2011

The charges were filed on 3/1 but the summons wasn't issued until 3/3. I don't believe he would have had to have been around for the filing of the charges. It looks almost administrative to me. In looking at the statute, I wonder if they found him growing pot on public land:

§ 721. Control of property.
(a) General rule.--The administration of all lands or waters
owned, leased or otherwise controlled by the commission shall be
under the sole control of the director, and the commission shall
promulgate regulations consistent with the purpose of this title
for its use and protection as necessary to properly manage these
lands or waters. The acquisition, use and management of such
lands or waters owned, leased or otherwise controlled by the
commission, including timber cutting and crop cultivation, shall
not be subject to regulation by counties or municipalities.

(b) Penalty.--A violation of regulations promulgated under
subsection (a) is a summary offense of the fifth degree.
(Dec. 17, 1990, P.L.687, No.170, eff. imd.)

That crossed my mind too, but then I thought there would be additional charges that would have stemmed from that. Growing pot is illegal, you'd think that would have been mentioned.

Indeed....maybe they couldn't tie to him as to ownership for criminal purposes so just threw that citation at him? Wonder if there is anything related to it under his brother?

Prosecutors told Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey A. Manning that detectives served at least five search warrants targeting Alexander Lorenzi, 22, concerning the whereabouts of Alivia Kail, 19, who last lived in Mt. Washington.

Police found a bag of Kail’s clothes in Lorenzi’s pickup truck along with a cooler full of food, county police Detective Daniel Mayer told the judge. Police also found two spent shell casings in a Shop Vac in the garage and a spent shell casing on the garage floor.

Oh this is just so sad and it's not looking good for Alivia.

what does "served at least five search warrants targeting Alexander Lorenzi, 22, concerning the whereabouts of Alivia Kail, 19" really mean? I'm assuming 1 for the house, and one for each vehicle? Article says at least 5 warrants. Would they need one for his cell phone, computer etc separately?

I wonder if they used Luminol in the garage?

They might. One of them might be for the phone company, to get his records, or for his ISP, if they think his usage pattern might show something. It could be a lot of things, depending on where his vehicles are stored, where they think he was, etc. That fish and game citation makes me wonder if there might be a boat or camper involved as well.

I'm beginning to think this kid is far from stupid. I'm adding together 1 - she told her friend she wasn't allowed to have her phone, 2 - Alivia posts on F/B 3/1 that she's loving the beach, but from a computer somewhere, 3 - AL was charged for something by the game commission on 3/1 (let's just say Marshall township is not part of this kids neighborhood), 4 - AL already had lawyered up before the police tried to question him and it took them a couple of days to find him.

The brother saw her on 3/4. If AL was scoping the area in Marshall Township on 3/1 when they were allegedly in Florida, makes me wonder if it was even her that posted the F/B message.

Okay, I'm rambling, not sure if any of that made any sense.

You made perfect sense. In fact you echoed what I had been thinking. That's why I asked about phones and FB many posts back.

One thing sticking in my mind is with these kids and their phones and their Facebooks is they always have pictures. Especially if they are at a beach somewhere. Always taking pictures and posting them right away. No pictures?

If the guy wouldn't let her take her phone? Hello like what's he her boss? Alivia complied yet he allowed her to use FB? Maybe from his mobile?

Still I don't get why she would ask her friend for her phone number on Facebook? I know the kids are just used to hitting a button and don't memorize numbers, but your longtime friend?

Also I wonder about the cooler with the food in it?

As police scoured Alexander P. Lorenzi's garage in Esplen last week for signs of his girlfriend, they found shell casings, her pink tote and a sheet with a possible blood stain, according to a search warrant made public Tuesday.

~~snip~~

Narcotics detectives returned with a second warrant for a more thorough search of the house and a pickup truck in the garage belonging to Mr. Lorenzi's father's company, Raymond Paul Lorenzi Excavating.

An affidavit for the truck indicates police found a shell casing from a .22-caliber pistol on the floor near the vehicle and two 9 mm casings inside a Shop-Vac. They also took a jewelry box with earrings, a Feb. 27 plane ticket to Fort Myers, Fla., and an airline gate pass for the same day.

One thing I did notice: When you post on FB from a mobile device, it usually indicates that. Her FB post of 3/1 doesn't seem to indicate it was from a mobile device leading me to believe that it was from a computer.

I agree about the pics. Very odd that a young woman at the beach wouldn't post any pics of her trip if she was loving it so much.

The cooler with food struck me as odd too.

It's unfortunate, but I don't believe we're going to see a happy ending here.

Excavating experience. Not good.

Fort Myers? Weren't they supposed to be in Miami?

Poor girl. Young, pretty girl.

Going out on a limb here, but I suspect this isn't the kind of free advertising that dear old dad wants.

Now I see why the police are questioning if she ever went to Fl. When you fly, don't you normally turn in the boarding pass? I wonder if the ticket was even used at all. The ticket was for Feb. 27. Remember in the beginning we were all wondering why the missing person's flyer said Feb. 28?

Now, this begs the question as to whether or not her brother actually saw her in March when she went to "pick up some clothes." That didn't strike me strange until I read in an article (I'll have to dig up the link) or heard her mom say she was living with a friend. Did anyone actually talk to her, or was the communication via FB and text? If not, why the ruse to go by the brother's house/apt.? Was something there?

These days your boarding pass usually just gets scanned and returned to you.

Struck me as odd too that reports say she lived with a room mate on Mt. Washington, but went to her brothers to pick up clothes. Wouldn't you typically have all your clothes in one place? This also comes after they were allegedly already in Florida and then returned. For what? Clothes? It'd be cheaper to by new than to come back to PA to pack. That made no sense. Why go down, come back, and tell everyone you're going back down.

Every report I've seen says the brother actually saw her.

Just noticed that some articles say the brother saw her on 3/4 and others say 3/5, so not sure which date would be correct.

From that same article linked above:

"Inside the pickup, Detective Mayer said police found a cooler of food, the tote bag belonging to Ms. Kail and neatly folded clothing."

I seriously doubt he would have neatly folded her clothes to dispose of them somewhere, which indicates to me that she never wore them. That narrows down the date to March 5, 2010, in my mind.
