"Gould reported Maciejewska missing on April 12, 2017,
though investigators believe she was killed roughly two weeks earlier.

Between March 29 and April 12 of that year,
police say Gould disposed of her body,
destroyed evidence
and pretended to be Maciejewska
through various electronic communications.

Maciejewska's body has not been located,
police said.

When asked about a motive,
de Barrena-Sarobe said
one factor may be the difficulty in Gould and Maciejewska's marriage.

Divorce papers were found in the home,
he said,
suggesting Gould knew about the status of their marriage."

Here is a link to the full Police Complaint from the Chester County Government website:

It's 42 pages, and I won't have time to read it to summarize it for a couple days. Wanted to drop the link here for others to read and pick through. Justice for Anna! If her parents are still living, I hope they are being kept in the loop in Poland.

Press release from Chester County District Attorney:

NEWS RELEASE: MAN ARRESTED FOR FIRST DEGREE MURDER OF WIFE AND TAMPERING OF PHYSICAL EVIDENCE

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop J announce the arrest of Allen Gould, 60, of Malvern, for killing his wife, Anna Maciejewska. The Defendant has been charged with Murder of the First Degree, Tampering of Physical Evidence, and other related charges. He is currently being held without bail at the Chester County Prison.

The criminal complaint (the Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty) filed by PSP indicates that on April 11, 2017, a coworker and a friend of the victim each called the police to report her missing. The following day, the Defendant also called the police to report that his wife was missing. When Troopers visited the Defendant at the family home, the Defendant stated that he last saw Maciejewska on the morning of April 10, as she was rushing out the door to drive to work.

PSP Investigators worked to collect information about Maciejewska, learn about her routines, and compare the patterns of her life and behavior before and after her disappearance. A combination of cell phone records, financial records, witness accounts, and other evidence demonstrates that Maciejewska stopped her normal routine on March 29. In fact, the investigation revealed that March 28 was the last time anyone saw Maciejewska or heard her voice.

Some of the evidence detailed in the criminal complaint includes, but is not limited to: (1) Maciejewska’s car, which was found a few miles from the family home, was never started on April 10—as the Defendant first claimed to police; (2) on March 30, Maciejewska’s father in Poland received a text message from Maciejewska’s phone number that included a birthday greeting in Polish with grammatical errors—police later determined the same message was researched via Google Translate, despite that Maciejewska spoke Polish fluently; and (3) Maciejewska was regarded as a devoted mother and was particularly close with her family in Poland—her supposed abandonment of her family is out of character.

Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said, “Anna Maciejewska’s disappearance in 2017 shocked the community. Thanks to the persistence and thorough investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police, we are able to start the process of getting justice for Anna and her family.”

Pennsylvania State Police Colonel Christopher Paris said, “This case demonstrated a great collaboration between the Pennsylvania State Police and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. Though very heart-wrenching, it was diligently worked since 2017, and all involved investigators will continue to seek justice. My condolences go to the family and loved ones of the victim.”

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop J Avondale Barracks is the lead investigating agency. Chief Deputy District Attorney Michelle Frei and Deputy District Attorney Jessica Yurick are the assigned prosecutors. Anyone with information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at (610) 268-2022.

I am local to here and to this day when walking the many wooded trails I think of her and wonder if she's nearby

My mind keeps going back to the Downingtown Quarry, behind the movie theater. True it's not especially near their home, but it is not far past where Anna's townhome was, and that water is DEEP.

Anna's Mother:

"We believe that Ania will come back to us.

A few days ago, Anna's parents, Janina and Zygmunt Maciejewski, flew to the States.
Mrs.Janina admits that she does not stop believing that her daughter is alive.

'We are cooperating with the police,
but unfortunately Ania's husband is firmly refusing and is also avoiding contact with us'.

Have you seen your grandson?

'Contact with Andrew has been almost completely blocked by our son-in-law.
We saw our grandson for a few minutes.

Currently, our son-in-law has gone to his family in another state.

Despite the fact that our daughter has two homes in the US,
we are prohibited from staying there'.

Did Anna have marital problems?

'The last time she was with her husband in Poland was for Christmas last year
and there were no arguments between them.

Everything was fine,
there was a family atmosphere.

Sometimes
she only said that her husband was very dictatorial and she did not allow him to be.
She was independent, ambitious and liked to have her way.

They had been married for 11 years.
After 7 years, the long-awaited son was born'.

And then things started going wrong between them?

- 'A bit like that.
Ania felt slightly pushed into the background.

Her husband began to love their son with a very possessive love.

He cleaned, cooked, changed his diapers.
Sometimes Ania felt unnecessary at home.

I told her that she should be happy that her husband helped her,
but she didn't like it very much,
because she felt that her husband wanted to take over her role'.

Do you think she could have run away, hidden somewhere or taken her own life?

- 'No!
Ania was a very responsible and rational person.
She had a very good professional position.
She would definitely never do something like that to her beloved son or to us.
My daughter loves us very much and we have a good relationship.
We talked very often'."

" 'I am suffering',

Maciejewska texted on March 6, 2017.

'I am depressed you wasted 10 years of my life,
my things are destroyed
I missed on life experiences I will never get back'."

:(
