So, the coroner says the woman died of "substantial trauma" or in other words, she was beaten to death? More or less? :-( sad and sickening.

Didn't actually consider that right away... but possibly.

I just listened to the news again here locally and the coroner or spoke person for coroner said the body was in such bad shape there were no distinguishing features to be able to id correctly, that's why the dental and other tests are being done. He also said the face was in bad shape (to put it into simple words).

So, I suppose gun shot is very possible too...

i think they know.. just can't say anything. there's clothes if left on and birthmarks or hair and such. unless naked and water damaged i'd think its a possibility they'd have an idea and just won't say due to family

The article has authorities saying the deceased has been there 'for at least days'. So it doesn't appear to be natural elements that have made the body so hard to identify. I am afraid it seems there is only one woman in the area who has been missing for 'at least days', and that's Ashley.

I think police have a very good idea who did this to her. I hope they get the evidence they need to prove it.

I have to toss this out to the parents on our thread---with a child with (I think I want this phrase) a "diminished mental capacity" wouldn't you monitor the child extra carefully? She is 15 mentally but hormonally she is a 23 year old woman.

amen. not saying they didn't, but I have five kids... the 20 yr old gets far more freedom than the 13 yr old... I stalk his FB, im on his butt. he's young, and needs guidance. believe me, im ready for him to grow up some, but until I feel he's capable of handling himself, he will have momma as a guardian angel, like it or not.

Ditto. And just to add to thank hunters as well. People do not realize that true responsible hunters (not poachers or the like) are some of the most ecologically sound people around. They respect and value the land and wildlife resources and are some of the first people to turn in someone poaching or destroying or trashing public lands.

Hikers and responsible law-abiding license-holding hunters are normally very good people, and typically will always lend a hand where needed.

Is it correct that where the body was found is quite a lot of miles from where she went missing?

If that is her, then it appears that a vehicle was definitely used to transport her.
