k. I'm not going to tell you the stuff that means nothing. Just guy talk. "Ok, so that's the victim here?" "There is not only A video, there are 2, actually there are 3. And one has all 4 camera angles"??? "That's not my problem. You guys (didnt check it?) And I said apology accepted and she said what? She goes the judge is going to yell at us for not having a warrant. I'm busy. ..." Something about someone else not being prepared for trial. I'm not sure they are talking about this case, luckily. Sorry! Just curious!
Thank you. I couldnt make out much of what they were saying.

It finally loaded for me. I heard the same small talk & interesting comments about how many videos there are, according to the men speaking in the background. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Reward-Germantown-Abduction-281446151.html

I also noticed Carlesha held up her hand *before* the perp held up his. Anyone else see that?

I know this is horrible quality but it's directly from the video in question. She does in fact reach up with her arm first, as if she's handing him something.

When I first saw this post, I thought no. way.

Then I took some stills. He MORE than looks like ATM guy. Wow.

Can someone post the pic of him at the ATM?

can you get anymore of the conversation? it is cutting in and out on me terribly! The female person they are talking about is a local news reporter. Thanks for transcribing!

I dont want to get this dude in trouble by saying everything he said, really. Even names are in there. It wasn't horrible, just about someone not doing their job. The main things that seemed like it was about Carletha was that there were 3 videos, one had multiple angles, and if I heard correctly, he was shocked at her screaming? Like it was maybe a lot or noteworthy, for sure.

I just watched the 'handshake' video with the commentary. I don't think there's a handshake, I think she put out her hand in a 'stay back' gesture and he grabbed her wrist. At that point she was already pretty quickly backing away from him so I don't think that a 'handshake' would be a logical/natural gesture in that situation. She also could have been trying to hand him her phone or wallet saying "Here, take this, just don't hurt me."

IMO, either of those is a much more logical scenario than trying to shake hands with someone you're backing away from on a dark, deserted street. Unfortunately, I don't think robbery was ever the intended crime, and the fact that he was able to use her card was just icing on the cake for the predator. I just hate to think what she had to go through before she gave up her pin number. :(

It's a common enough thing to try to shake hands to make sure a possible perp doesn't have a weapon in a hidden hand. I believe a knife was dropped at the scene? May be her hand out was to draw his as she was already aware he was following her and trying to avoid him. See the way she zigzags across the street to avoid him, then turns around I think because he calls out to her. She quickens her pace when he falls behind her toward the well lit corner, crosses in the zigzag before he overtakes her.

Yes, after I rewatched it, it no longer looks like she is going to shake his hand. It looks more like he was saying he was just offering her a business card or something and she realized mid-reach something was not right but he got her. He freaking got the poor girl.

I feel like it was just him seeing someone to grab, but if it was someone from the party, it is possible they went with her to the ATM earlier and saw her pin number. Every theory here is just a little more uncomfortable than the last. Yikes.

Due to how hard she fought, how did he control her in the car? Possibly 2 perps involved here?

I was thinking either that, or knocked her out.

I can't understand how she was controlled in the car so quickly either, especially since she kicked out two windows once she was in the car! All the possibilities really stink

How he controlled her in the car really is very puzzling and bugging me! I was thinking if he had a stun gun he would have used it in the street surely? He was brazen. Jmo...I think there's much more to this than meets the eye.

In the surveillance video where the suspect is seen using her ATM card..is Carlesha in that video too, or no?

  • #575
From the first video, it looks to me like he must have knocked her out, because the back of the car is moving up and down a bunch of times, and then it stops. Then the car takes off.

Handcuffs or something similar that could get her arms under control quickly so he could gag her and secure her feet/legs? Or, maybe just knocked her out and tied her up?

Yes perhaps one of those options, just having a hard time getting my head around it since she was such a fighter.

Not finished reading to the end yet but I noticed in the store video. Dude opens the refrigeration door with his left hand. Grabs drink with his left hand. Pays at cashier with his left hand. He's left handed.

Well, I have read that demonstrating that you had no concealed weapons was the origin of the modern day handshake, but can't think of any circumstance in which a tiny woman would have gone for that strategy on a dark street with a man coming up quickly behind her. Because....what was she going to do if he DID have a gun or a knife? Honestly, I'm a short woman myself and not only everything I've ever learned about self-defense would tell me not to let someone get a hold on me if I could help it, my own instincts would be screaming at me to get away, not try to play weapon detective with someone who so clearly outweighed me.
