From the Find Cherrie Mahan Facebook Page
Predators don’t always look like strangers lurking in the dark.
Many times they’re friends, family, neighbors. Sometimes they’re trusted voices in the community. Even the people no one would ever question.
For decades, abuse and exploitation of children, both girls and boys, has been far more common and far more hidden than people want to admit.
There are people in our community who know what happened to Cherrie Mahan. 41 years later, many still remain silent. They walk amongst us. They follow this page.
Staying quiet about abuse doesn’t make it go away. It gives predators more access, more power, and, unfortunately, more victims.
In one of the first inmate letters Janice received, she was told “money hid the truth from you.” No amount of money, status, loyalty, or fear should ever come before protecting innocent children.
You still have the chance to do the right thing. Not just for Cherrie, but for the countless victims of childhood sexual abuse.
Protect the children. Expose the truth.

He is back in the community.
We are seeking information related to Montgomery and his activities, relationships, and behavior during the time of Cherrie Mahan’s disappearance and the years that followed.
This is about the safety of our community today.
But it’s also about continuing to pursue answers for Cherrie.
We are specifically asking to hear from people who knew him or his associates.
We have already received many tips related to Montgomery and those in his circle.
We know there are more people who have information.
Firsthand information is most helpful. But if you heard something that never sat right with you, it’s still worth sharing.
If you have any information related to Montgomery, his relationships, his behavior, or anything connected to that time period — message us privately or leave an anonymous tip using the link in our bio.
All information will be kept confidential within our team. We will not share your identity or details with law enforcement unless you give permission.
PLEASE NOTE: At this time, William Montgomery has not been publicly named as a suspect by Pennsylvania State Police, and his involvement in Cherrie Mahan’s disappearance remains unconfirmed.
