He’s the one who informed law enforcement that she had multiple phones.

I take that as a sign that he’s not on his mom’s side.

Agreed.

Court papers shed light on probe of Berks siblings' deaths

Oct 7, 2019

[...]

The documents are applications for four separate search warrants and their respective affidavits of probable cause related to the deaths of 8-year-old Conner Snyder and his 4-year-old sister, Brinley, both of whom were found unresponsive inside their home in the 2400 block of Route 143 in Albany Township on the afternoon of September 23.

The court documents reveal that Lisa R. Snyder reported finding her children in the basement, hanging approximately three feet apart from each end of a plastic-coated wire that had been wrapped around the basement's main support beam. Alongside the children, police said they found two wooden dining room chairs that had been knocked over.

[...]

In their application for one of the search warrants, police said they were seeking a husky pit bull mix, weighing approximately 50 pounds, that the mother told them used to be tied outside the home with a plastic-coated wire.

"By determining the dogs (sic) actual weight and sized (sic) utilizing a scale will assist in the criminal investigation," Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Ian Keck said in the warrant application. "All of this is important to the criminal investigation and reconstruction of the events surrounding this incident."

[...]

The other warrants sought trace evidence, including fingerprints and DNA; and electronic communication devices, including computers, tablets, and cell phones.

"This will assist the investigation by potentially establishing a link between the perpetrator and VICTIMS and the crime scene, and reconstructing the events surrounding this incident," Keck said in one of the warrant applications.

I’ve thrown that theory out there myself, as that’s what Diane Downs did.

We know so little at this point, that motive is completely up in the air.

Financial, attention, inconvenience; just to name a few.

Mania.

To get back at the father who was no longer in their life? The father was obviously around multiple times to father the 17, 8 and 5 year old.

I highly doubt there’s one father. I’m betting there’s three.

but the kids were not dead when mom called. Were she guilty of this, wouldn't she have waited just a few more minutes? ugh, yucky to post that.

Not if she thought they were and was simply excited to have it over.

I'm going with two, although I don't know for sure.

I think it's instinctual if you see somebody hanging -- let alone your babies-- you first try to cut them down!
THIS! ^^^^
I agree that it would be instinctual and just basic human nature to immediately try to try to cut someone down if you found them hanging from a rafter -- whether that person is a child, relative, stranger. No matter. I cannot image anyone could just walk away from a scene like that without doing any and every thing they could possibly think of to help them first.

Culprits do visit sites discussing their crimes, or go to police press conferences, involve themselves in investigations, searches, etc.

What innocent parent would join a crime site discussing her children’s deaths just a few weeks later? Especially when she’s claiming it’s not an unsolved crime? (Thus she doesn’t need public help of any kind).

Yeah... I can't imagine myself wanting to wallow in or even think about the details if this had happened to my children, frankly. I'd want to be as far away from the gory details as possible; and have to work hard not to find my mind wandering in their direction.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I saw a picture of the kids, and Connor was seriously obese. In the absence of medical issues, that's often a sign of some kind of trauma.

I want to hear it too, but didn’t want to have to subscribe to broadcastify to do so
As far as I know, broadcastify only archives police, fire, and rescue dispatch. I have a subscription, use it frequently, and I'm not aware of the presence of 9-1-1 call recordings.

For example, here is the list of feed archives available for the Lehigh area on Broadcastify.

Actually, it was only talk between dispatcher and responder/fire dept ,-- not mom's call with 911 dispatcher. Bad reporting.

Exactly. And it’s not simply a matter of we would do, it’s a matter of what most people would do.

Most people try and save their kids lives in this situation.

Incidentally, any effort on her part might have actually done this. Those kids were still in a condition where they were able to be hooked up to life support, and that’s with all those wasted minutes while they were left hanging.

We lost my Uncle in June. He tried to detox on his own and had a seizure. He was on life support for 4 horrific days before we took him off.

Every effort was made to get him help as fast as possible and do everything that could be done to improve his chances from the moment they heard him fall.

I have thought about this ad nausea-um every time I go unhook the dog to bring him in. When it's a little difficult to unhook him because he won't hold still. Or he's pulled the line tight. Or my hand gets caught in it.

I'm still able to unhook it with some maneuvering. I think by standing on the chair and lifting Brinley a little she could have easily gotten her down. Then if needed she could have lowered Conner down. She could have gotten both of them down, absolutely.

This woman absolutely killed her kids regardless of how they ended up hanging from the rafters. She didn't save them and she could have. She just sat there while the life was choked out of them. It makes me sick.

I'm sure the 17 year old is telling all since he's the one that told LE mom had three phones. I think someone stated earlier that he's living with relatives.

He really reminds me a lot of AJ Freund's older brother. Even the same age and it sounds like about the same family situation as well.

It's got to be especially hard on the brother in this case, to have not been able to save his siblings. He's training to save lives and wasn't able to save theirs... that's the type of thing that really messes with a kid for the rest of their life.

The issue isn’t that she had multiple phones, it’s that she failed to disclose them.

If I recall correctly, the 911 call was made on a different phone from the one she turned over to law enforcement.

Totally agree. My reply was more directed to the poster who wondered why you would have more than one cell. There's a million scenarios to answer that one. What stands out to me is the 17 year old knew about them, so it was no secret *in that household*.

Maybe not to get back at a boyfriend, but family member/s. Or to create drama, and get attention.

What a painful experience. Very sorry for you loss.

Doesn’t 15 minutes sound like a really long time for someone to arrive?? Did the dispatcher not take her seriously?

The fire station was across the street from her house but most small town firefighters and paramedics are volunteers and facilities are not manned 24/7. I live three minutes from a station and it has taken ten+ minutes for personnel to arrive at my house. The volunteers need time to leave their houses or workplaces or wherever they are and go to station before even getting to my house.

Theory about LE wanting the dog.

For prior punishment or specifically that day she had put the leash around the beam. She tells LE is was already there and was used for the dog. Panics Seeing investigation and gives the dog alway. LE wants to see if the dog could even be big enough to attach to the dangling portions of the leash to prove or disprove her claim

Even a dead cell phone will dial 911... is it possible that she was a hoarder? Do we know the cells were even "live"?

I agree that CPS were involved for a reason and regrettably, so far nobody has indicated that the issue arose from a non-custodial parent not present in the home, so...? Also, "multiple" CSR complaints is not the result of a transient hookup.
