Thanks Bears! Unfortunately I can't access that site.... :( I'm going to have to put your name down or @Seattle1 - as my "go-to" people! If that's okay with you two!! :D

Edited to add: I hate to ask - but is there a "time"? TIA!

Yes -- Nov 12 at 8:30 AM.

(Also, I remembered that local reporter LaurieMasonSchroder@LehighCourts will respond to tweets or DM's inquiring about upcoming court dates).

This is just a horrible case. When I read the testimony, it reminds me of Susan Smith who got rid of her children because she wanted the single life. It is impossible to fathom how anyone could be this selfish and evil.

Well, she seems to like the prison food. Moo.

Tried not to chuckle, but failed. :p

I have been wondering if she is now getting proper mental health care (or just health care), and is being prescribed something that causes weight gain? I'm not gonna lie; every time I see her I feel ill. I wish I could unread some of the things she has done.

The world is full of people like her. Some are too weak to "spring into action", others are like this psycho

I don't think they were initially looking for the dog in relation to the charges for the dog.

She was 'off' from the get go, and she had just purchased a 'Super' dog lead, for an animal 5x the size of her dog. Which she no longer even had.

My guess is they were looking for the dog to a) confirm that the dog was much smaller 250lbs and b) confirm the well being of the dog.

They would have needed access to her FB to see the photos of the dog, so I think that info came to LE later.

Kinda off topic, but I own a large breed dog (pitbull/ basset hound mix... don't ask, but it's an adorable combo), my family has many saint Bernard's and my neighbor has Newfoundland's, none of our dogs would require a 250 pound rated lead.... what breed would need that?

Morning all!

I know many of you who have posted with me for years or even over a decade must have thought I'm surely anti female or anti mothers. All of the cases I've posted on involving horrid female murder suspects, many against their own children or when murdering adult victims certainly may have given that false impression.

I assure everyone that is not remotely true. I am indeed very proud of being a female myself, and so proud of the millions of great women in our nation, with many of them posting right here on WS. :)

How I have differed perhaps is when females are in the criminal justice system through violent crimes of their own doing.

I have never made any excuses nor tried to find reasons to diminish their unbelievable sadistic cruelty, predatory crimes, nor all of the countless violent murders they have committed. I'm one who truly believes in justice for all.

Over the decades I've been sickened by the double standards in our justice system where for many years murdered babies, and defenseless children were valued FAR FAR less if they were neglected, horrifically abused, and brutally murdered by their own biological mothers.

Yet if they suffered the same fate by any male or bio father the innocent victims were highly valued as ALL little children should, and must be valued the same. All deserve no less than equal value, no matter what gender their offenders happens to be.

I know I must have angered, and frustrated many when I came down just as hard on female suspects as I did every vile male suspects.

All I wanted everyone to perhaps realize is females are just as deadly evil as any male offenders, and in many murder cases their violent acts were barbaric demonic overkills going way beyond what it took to kill their victims, both little children, and adult victims as well.

Imo, We no longer can pretend they are the gentle kinder gender when their own violent evil acts lands them in the criminal justice system or use the excuse that someone else must have driven them do the despicable violence they themselves do right by themselves or are very willing coconspirators who may be other females or team up with males who have the same twisted evil mind set as they do.

I believe it is my duty to bring awareness since I'm a survivor from being neglected, abused in all forms in my own childhood. I feel I must be a strong advocate for ALL children, both little girls, and boys.

I can't ignore that almost 60 percent of all maltreatment of children is perpetrated by their own biological mothers.

Yes, it's hard to digest, I know, that the worst most dangerous enemy all abused children will ever face in their childhood is behind closed doors living with their own dreadful mommy dearest.

If only these 2 beautiful children could speak they would tell us what all she did, and made them endure during their short lives, but she has rendered them voiceless like so many others have done, and will sadly continue to do in the future.

We as a society must be the strong voice for ALL children, especially for those who have been murdered by their fathers or mothers or by anyone else for that matter, no matter the gender of the suspects.

Jmho

I know this is a very old post, but oh well.

You and I tend to follow the same cases and alot of the time, a mother is the suspect and I think I know why I choose some cases over others.

As a child of an abusive mother, I need to understand the psychology behind it. My mother had many narcissistic traits, was an alcoholic and drug addict and was diagnosed with a few mental health diagnoses and also completed suicide. She also had my 2 younger siblings removed by DCF from her care. I was removed also but not by DCF. I was the oldest and only one not legally removed, so she still had some access to me but not the other 2 after they were removed. Sorry, got off track...

Anyway, the cases that feature an abusive/killer mother have alot of good information about why a mother would do these things, not in a defending them type way, but to shed light on what must be wrong with a mother that allowed their brains to malfunction so badly.

I see alot of my own mother in these women and I guess it helps me to understand that it was her who was flawed, not me. YMMV, but I think that's why I follow them. I can empathize with the children in these cases better because I have been them and they are me.

In my mother's case, the abuses were generational and so were the mental health issues. I inherited the mental health issues, but thankfully the abuse and addiction and all that comes with it, has ended with my mother. And maybe the reason I was the one that ended the line of abuse comes from the fact that I have had an interest in, been reading and learning about true crime since I was somewhere around 6 or 7 years old... oddly enough, my mother was a major reader of true crime books which is why I had access to them at such a young age. So short story made way too long to say, I think many Websleuthers choose to read about certain cases because they can see themselves in the victim (we are survivors, not victims but I think you understand what I mean) and may need to understand the perpetrator better.

JMO, YMMV, ETC ETC

If I recall correctly, the dog leads came in two strengths (125#, 250#) and Snyder opted for the stronger tie out to sustain both Conner and Brinley at the same time. :(

I understood why she got the one she did. My curiosity was actually about what dog breeds are 250# made for because I just can't picture a 250 pound dog...

Awe got you. :)

It's physics, and suggest you reference tension, yield, and tensile strength.

My Shepherd Husky boy is only 75 pounds, yet he managed to snap a plastic-coated steel cable tie out lead that was rated for 1500 pounds tensile strength!! Now, he does not go outside without me. lol

My newfie is 160 lbs and my St Bernard is 150 at a year old - St. Bernards can get up to 200 lbs full grown but any more than that and they're just overweight. They may say 250 so large breed owners are "confident" the leads can hold up to their very big dogs.
