David Lee Branton seemed like the all American man. His family had a well known name in the Lehigh Valley community. He made his own way by opening up his own law firm. He was successful and living his life. Out of nowhere he disappeared with no trace; leaving behind all of his belongings. In the aftermath, it comes out that he had a substance abuse issue and there are rumors rippling of him possibly being a closeted gay. Could this be why not only his family but his own community “swept” this case under the rug? Listen as Chelsea tells the story and discusses theories with Grace and Sarah. On January 10, 1993, David Lee Branton was reported missing by a roommate and co-worker. He was last seen on January 7, 1993 after leaving the Allentown Racquetball Club in the City of Allentown around 11 am.

David Branton failed to return to his residence after leaving the Racquetball Club, but left his vehicle behind and none of his clothing or medication was missing.

Could Branton's disappearance be related to his drug problem? I wonder if the assault Branton suffered at age 25 could have been related to Branton's attempt to buy drugs... Had he been scammed and murdered? Could his disappearance be related to homophobia? Or to an AIDS infection, perhaps due to cognitive symptoms of the disease? We may never know... However, I find it tragic that no one seems to be looking for him... Working for an AIDS center while being known for making homophobic statements and using drugs would be an indication that someone is in conflict with their own homosexuality... I have nothing against any minority, but this young man apparently had that conflict...

Agreed! But I'll also add: he had a law office. What type of law did he practice? Could it have been a former client unhappy with David's (or even the law firm's) service? What about someone David (or his firm) won against, upset that they now had to pay back money or even serve time? Not sure how likely this is, but I think it's still worth considering.
