they never really did much of anything...almost like it's no thang. mOO

I assume they thought it was a case of suicide.

I don't know , I seem to recall that some LE rolled their eyes perhaps knowingly as they seemed to have some insight into Ray's life. so surely there is more to that that perhaps hasn't been made known. It's interesting how in just looking at his life, you can see all these as a possibility.

suicide
murder
affair
mob hit
run away
walk away
mental incapacitation

that's a lot to imagine and includes a lot of variables and aggregators. mOO

It was $10k when it was offered in 2005-06. No takers.

I know in the past, Ray went to a Ball Game out of state for the Weekend and didn't tell anyone. I'm sure Family chewed him out for that..they were worried I'm sure. It's been mentioned in an article a time or two. If he was going to have a Weekend slumber party with a woman, I would think he would make up an alibi to tell her (Patty) beforehand as to why he wouldn't be home that night. Also, no change of clothes were taken apparently.

No, in fact I would argue #3 is quite noble.
Either putting his daughter through years of grief or having her knowingly commit fraud. One or the other happens in your theory. Very noble.

She was, even at that time, an adult living nearly 3,000 miles away.

Nobody did. He had an argument with his second wife and left for the weekend.

As for the change of close, I done my laundry the last 40+ years, and I could not tell you how many pairs of briefs or boxers, tee-shirts or socks I have. It is possible that he had a change of clothes with him.

It would be interesting to see a sketch done of how Ray might look today.

The Charley Project states Ray was last seen in a blue fleece jacket, jeans, and sneakers. I assume this description was given from Patty as to what Ray was wearing before she left? When witnesses came forward as to seeing Ray on April 15 and 16th, what was the clothing description they gave? Were they all on the same page or were there discrepancies with his attire?

When Patty saw him he was still in bed. So this description would not have come from her.

Possibly a tee or polo shirt under the fleece. It was in the low in the afternoon of 4/15/05, with plenty of sun.

As far as I know, it was the fleece and jeans.

So it was never made public as to what the witnesses said Ray was wearing? Interesting if all the witnesses described the same attire...or gave different descriptions. This could help weed through actual sightings and ones that were not Ray.
The description given on the 16th would be helpful too..

Yes, because one of them talked on the Final Argument podcast.

Ray was a good looking man. very very attractive..I simply cannot imagine him with either of his wives... they seem so asexual. I get that he has a formal Jesuit education etc..that he may not have considered women traditionally thought of as attractive as that attractive...I have seen couples where the male bird has all the pretty feathers as is in nature. It's that you can't help but notice he was involved with two extremely similar looking women when it's almost guaranteed that other types of women would be totally interested in him..so how did he handle that? He was a ladies man but gravitated towards safe motherly women?

his life is low effort, low key..thats cool too..work all the time..live without debt..have a low profile..
own nothing to speak of..eschew consumerism..ok, cool...

and then of course all the money he should have amassed with this unassuming lifestyle is somehow non existent years after his divorce. did we ever know what his charitable contributions were? did anyone ever ask Patty what Ray did with all his money?

he sure wasn't spending it. he wasn't according to records...so, my vibe is that one or several people know a whole lot more about Ray then they let on. It hasn't come out and it won't too soon.

my vibe is that there is a cover up somewhere in this story...starting with the laptop. why has no one done the forensic accounting to find the missing money? We need Ben Affleck in The Accountant to find the missing money! nothing about the disappearance day makes sense either..like telling Patty where he is going, but then moving the car out of sight. Why bother? you already told Patty where you were going. I feel like people are not truthful when it comes to this story.

Really good questions here. I think the fleece and jeans description matches the last known image from the courthouse surveillance. I recall watching it (the “red Jeep” footage) but can’t find a link at the moment

What did the witness who saw ray and patty in the park by courthouse say they were wearing? The one who said they were a great couple or something like that? And was that the Thursday before?

2010 Link that states last known image:

I thought Ray was sleeping in bed the last time Patty saw him.
