PA PA - District Attorney Ray Gricar Mysteriously Disappeared - Bellefonte 15 April 2005 #18

I just checked my files last night and couldnt find any report on DNA. It would not be surprising if none was recovered from the cigarette butts. Some time had passed.
It was reported before the 4th anniversary.

Do you have a link to anything credible on that to refute her claim?
Yes, the reports of LE and the family. It was not noted in the police report, but the police that were there reported it.

I think you are wrong about him walking away. Many political players did not assist in doing any investigation to find DA Ray Gracar ? Why ? I do believe he was conducting his own investigation on Sandusky n I think he turned those notes on that lap top over to someone . I think the players already had it in for him n thought they got all the notes but he was a step ahead . Sandusky did get found out. Penn went down the tubes . I wonder if the mother’s of the boy’s that Sandusky abused were frightened away with Ray’s murder that they never came forward,! Penn state luminary is powerful all those men business men that screwed boys now do u honestly think that the state police in Pennsylvania were gonna find out who murdered Ray Gricar with that much $$$$$ telling them what they will n will not do
I really must agree with this statement . I followed the Ray Gricar case many years now my only concussion has been Penn State University Boy’S club had everything to do with removing this DA from this earth . Powerful men run that club and it still runs! PA state police did little if anything to pursue Ray ‘s murder.Sandusky goes to prison n I am sure. He is just fine. The club goes on that is that $$$$ talks the FBI did nothing ,

Not one person has come forward to say that RFG ever interviews anyone about Sandusky after 1998. He never spoke Victim 6 or the victim's mother, even in 1998.
Perhaps one would be frightened or scared to become involved with this matter. MOO

Yes I guess people are afraid , they killed a Pennsylvania District Attorney and got away with it. Now did they not?

So I have been thinking about motive. He was 60 and about to retire. Why leave now? He wasn't married and retiring could allow him the freedom to travel and do whatever he wanted to do. Unless he was running / hiding from someone or something. Suicide....IMO, that's at the bottom of the list. You can hide a body but you can't hide yourself. I imagine that area has been searched repeatedly... Murdered..he was a DA and I'm sure he made enemies along the way. I do find it odd he went for a drive but took his computer. A computer that had the hard drive purposely removed and both submerged in water. What's the motive for a retiring 60 yr old DA financially stable and unmarried to disappear!?

Money could be a motive. If RFG retired and died, his heirs would get substantially less. If he "died" prior to retirement, they get a hefty payout.

There is also the possibility of RFG having hid money off shore and not being able to get in back into the US. In that case, he would have to the money, not away from anything,

If I were LE, I would be strongly looking at that possibility.

I get the money as a motive angle, but why would he fake his own disappearance so his family could have a larger payout? Were they in financial ruin? It seems like such a drastic plan...
Money off shore would be more practical..
Who would stand to gain this money..his daughter and Patty? Are they now living beyond their means? This case is baffling..

The larger payout would be a sufficient motivation, especially if he had off shore money that he could not access from the US.

Another factor may be RFG's history with trying to get the position made full time. I could have felt that Centre County "owed" him the money, because they only paid him for part time work.

So it's my understanding, Ray was seen by witnesses on April 15 and 16th. If this is correct, where did Ray stay the evening of the 15th and why did he return to that same location on the 16th? He was seen alone on both days , except for strolling with the dark haired woman, and could have called / walked up to someone if in distress, but didn't. Why not call Patty the evening of the 15th knowing if he didnt come home she would be worried? He was in a public place so apparently he wasn't phased about being seen on either day....

At least three witnesses saw RFG on the morning of 4/16 in the SoS. Assuming they are correct, that would lead to two possibilities:

1. He wanted to make it appear that he spent the night in Lewisburg, because he with the helper getting a vehicle to drive out of the area. Most likely helpers live in Centre County.

2. He spent the night with a woman, and just returned to check his car and then left to spend the rest of the day with her.

Either scenario is plausible, but both depend on the witnesses being accurate.

When was the last time Ray used his cell? Who was the last person he called?
Last incoming call?

So, witnesses who seen him on his phone, if accurate...he must have been using a burner phone..

If accurate, yes.

I will note that there was a call to the home phone from an unknown number at 7:29 PM on 4/15. It lasted 36 seconds.
