The question there is that if RFG was doing some investigation, which would have been unusual, why isn't there a record of what he was doing?

If there was information on the laptop, why wasn't it duplicated on one of his other computers, stored on a removable device or printed out and his locked office? Flash drives were available, CD-Roms and floppy discs were commonplace.

Further, the DA's Office did not have an investigator and RFG was not known to have ever investigated a case.
not sure that most evidence would not have been paper- lawyers were not known as early adopters of tech. maybe some one told RG something but was unwilling to testify or sign statements. being a prosecutor and "knowing something" that you cannot prove in court is just a problem. maybe there were emails (?) on his PC and that is why it was destroyed- Apparently erasing or deleting was not enough and if they had gone to his office, they would still exist in some form. The computer destruction means something.

RFG used the laptop as his personal home computer prior to 12/04. It is probable that he had a lot of private correspondence on it, as well as non work searches, and possibly photos.

These incidents used to seem far-fetched before the Epstein investigation finally broke wide open. Such a scenario involving the Second Mile charity is actually very likely. Powerful, wealthy people are going to do what they want to do. Things happen, people take the fall, powerful members of government and the fifth estate look the other way. It has always been suspicious that the investigation quickly ended with the discovery of the Second Mile charity link. Suddenly wrapped up in a nice, neat package and put away. JS went to jail, Paternoster lost his job, the attorney General was safely promoted to governor and it was declared that Gricar decided to stage a mysterious disappearance and leave everything behind to go live in some Eastern European country even though he was on the verge of retirement. Yeah, that’s the ticket…

JMO
The AG became governor before the scandal broke; he was elected in 11/2010. He was first elected AG in 2004. The investigation continued after TSM applied for dissolution. The Second Mile - Wikipedia

I don't know anyone that has "declared that Gricar decided to stage a mysterious disappearance and leave everything behind to go live in some Eastern European country even though he was on the verge of retirement." Granted it is both possible and probable, but there is another possibility.

But the AG became governor after Ray Gricar disappeared and an ineffective investigation into the suspicious incident was handed to a small town police department to manage.

And it was not handled by the next two acting AG (Ryan and Kelly), the next elected AG (Kane), the next acting AG (Beemer), the next elected AG (Shapiro, who shortlisted for VP), the next acting AG (Henry), or the current elected AG (Sunday). Notice a pattern.

[I'm leaving Castor off the list because he was acting AG for a fortnight.]

The problem was lack of jurisdiction. The case was moved to the PSP, and it gets very little attention.

I would add glasses to that age progressed photo. Ray was a contact lens wearer. So I imagine he would most likely be wearing glasses in his later years.
I hope a cold case detective or two takes a look at this case with fresh eyes. To re examine the files to see if any little detail was overlooked or something was missed. 20 years is a long time!

I would like to see a grand jury investigate, something that was suggested by:

The PSP-CIA review of the case in 2006.
J. J. in Phila in a blog in 2009.
Bob Buehner in a 2009 press conference.
Rebecca Knight in c. 2018 in a podcast.

All those Attorneys General listed had the ability to call a grad jury.

Excellent point on the glasses.

Thank you to all for keeping this case in the press and hearts.
Justice is so long over-due.
Delaware and Pennsylvania deserve to lead in justice!!! Open the case files.
Enough is enough. Grand Jury, open files, lists of any who kept this quiet.
Peace and Justice needed. Godspeed to all these justice seekers. Peace be with you. Love always wins. Keep justice happening !

A lot of the case files were leaked. That is where I'm getting some of the financial information.
