What could have happened here? That intersection is crazy busy. By all accounts and I even looked at patient reviews this Doctor was excellent plus was a nice, nice man.

Did he accept a new appointment? Somebody just figured he was an easy target? What?

Heartbroken for his lovely family. May they get some kind of peace.

The Courrier Times reports Dr Sowa also planned to work the polls He is a GOP committee man.

That is Bucks County. I pray him being a Republican had nothing to do with his death. I doubt it, but who knows?

Hi, Filly. Asking myself the same questions. That is an extremely busy area and hectic intersection, yes. Right off of Street Road. Lots of not only vehicle traffic but foot, as well. It's a good idea to look into the patient reviews; I had noticed all 26 Google reviews of Sowa Chiropractic Office -- his private, out-of-home practice -- are 5-star and highly complimentary, with the latest posted 6 months ago and the oldest 5 years.

As reported in one of those Bucks County Courier Times articles: "Sowa, 64, was killed sometime from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. He died from from blunt force trauma to the head, said township police, who ruled the death a homicide."
I wonder if it was a single item used and if it was something from within his office? Was it then removed by the perpetrator? Or, did the person come prepared? As I speculate, I have a hard time imaging it not being premeditated... Nothing was taken from the residence or stolen from the office. It seems unlikely, yet I suppose anything is possible, that it could be a crime of opportunity, however, in such a very busy area, in broad daylight, and with nothing stolen/reported missing, it does seem it could have been personal. Just my thoughts/opinions.

I took a look at the business hours listed on his website: Mondays are listed as open from 8AM to 8PM. While, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays are By Appointment. Doesn't look like from what I've read online that he took walk-in appointments. Don't know if this is definite, though.

According to an NBC Philadelphia news report, James was working alone and he was scheduled to see patients on that day. As you mentioned, I wonder if one of those was a "new" patient? Possibly with nefarious intentions? Did any patients see anything odd that day - I don't believe it's known how many appointments he actually took prior to his death.

It is perplexing; there really doesn't seem to be an obvious motive and by all known accounts, he was a decent man, and an active, very well-liked member of the community.

I pray him being a Republican had nothing to do with his death. I doubt it, but who knows?

Right, who knows? The fact that he and his family have a long history and relationships with local Republican party/council along his plans to work the polls on election day is something to consider. Perhaps, there's more to this that we don't know, more to this story that isn't being reported. Sad and scary.

My sincere condolences to the family for their loss.

Hey, Ginger Snaps. Good thinking on checking the hours. Also I too wondered what the object was, and if the murderer brought it or used something from the office.

Agree that nothing being stolen makes it seem personal. If somebody was looking for money, drugs or things to pawn my guess would be he would also try to gain access to the house.

You made a good point about "foot traffic". Also those nightmare traffic lights. Example the Boulevard is a race track. People are speeding by so fast they see a crime, but can't stop. Waiting for a bus in broad daylight I saw an elderly lady beat and mugged. People just sped by. Creep had car on side street. I ran to the lady. Nobody would help. A Nun called the cops.

Not the situation there. People stop and start and walk.

Poor man. Thanks for more insightful help. Good thinking.

This poor family. Nothing?

Hey there, again, Filly. I've been meaning to post as I've heard no updates nor have I found anything new on this - and now am seeing your post.

Nope, nothing. Poor family, indeed.

Side note, your above story both enraged me and didn't surprise me, at once. I also thank your for being a good-natured person and running towards someone in need rather than away or hoping/assuming someone else would "deal with it". Brave of you. Good on that nun, too!

My thoughts continue to be with the family and friends. I hope some answers can be found before the new year.

Maybe this person thought the dr had prescription meds in the office.

Looks like they have got their man. Hope there is enough info for an arrest in the murder.

Oh poor Doctor Sowa.

Thankfully the Bensalem police and Detectives cared, and followed up.

Blessings to his dear family.

Senseless. Lunatic murders a dear man as he claims he made his jaw worse?

I'm so sorry Dr. Sowa. My deepest, and sincere tears for the Sowa family.
