GUILTY PA - Dr. Melissa Ketunuti, 35, murdered in her Philly home, 21 Jan 2013

It cannot be overstated: Video surveillance is an extremely important tool in solving crimes in this city.
Criminals do not always grab our attention; do not wear a mask, with a striped convict shirt, carrying a bag with a dollar sign on it; they look just like every other human.

If this person in custody is the perpetrator, I hope he gets life without parole.
You do something like this? You are not allowed to be a part of our civilized society. You deserve to live in a cage.

The insecticide might have been an excuse to have the dog put restrained.

Wow. Twitter rumors and comments on the page say he felt she belittled him during an exterminator visit he made to her house. One of his profile pics is him and a woman giving each other the finger.

He is the only Jason that is listed as living in Levittown. We won't know until they release a photo.

This is pretty much what I expected to find - personal anger, and the murder being all about degradation of the victim. Not just for the rage exhibited, but because that's the motive most commonly ascribed to the suspects in that other murder I was talking about, which was in many ways (for one of the victims) very very similar.

I wonder if he's had a history of violence.. Off to catch up on those news reports now!

I'm sure it's him. CBS3 says he is 36. The street is 3 miles from this guy's high school and he graduated in 96.

So, if the latest is to be believed, he wasn't following her, but instead had an appointment to her home?
We sure have been getting contradictory information. Hopefully they will clarify it at the press conference.

Me too! I knew it was a rage killing but I thought it would be someone she knew, not her exterminator. Sheesh. So sad.

Yeah that confuses me too. They definately saw him following her. They were reporting that on the news last night. I think he was at her house an earlier day or maybe earlier the same day, he stewed about it, then followed her so he could know when she was home, and killed her.

Middle initial "T" Gracelin, but that's via media. Who knows?

I bet strawberry's close to the mark, there, re him stewing on it and then following Melissa - maybe to make sure she was alone?

I wonder if there was a little prior contact? A cancelled appt. or maybe a quote given..?

ETA: I wish every killer was caught as swiftly as this... kudos to the police involved!!!

I'm looking at comments on the articles linked - and many people are sneering at him for being a cowardly 🤬🤬🤬 and taking his rage out on this beautiful, petite girl. Too right!

Look at his home life - some guesses here - wife and kid, but living with the in-laws - why couldn't he provide a proper home for his family? Bet that got mulled over a lot. And a kid elsewhere - child support. He's a lowly exterminator, dealing with bugs, and he felt like a bug too (or that he deserved SO much better, being the 'winner' he really was, deep down :shakehead: )- and he's projected this self-hatred and anger over his situation onto lovely Melissa, who devoted her life to healing others.

Tall tree. Short rope. I wish.

He was called to Melissa's house to do work and felt disrespected and that she was making fun of him?

FWIW I do know he was seen on that tape. So did he do work for her before? That day? If so the a****** took that risk after an appointment was made? The Doctor owned her home so it was not a landlord that chose that specific exterminator. I wonder how he was chosen?

Talk about convaluted. People and thier disrespect. Good Lord. How off are you that you tie a woman up and strangle her and set her on fire? He's never been disrespected by a 6 foot man in his life? What an excuse.

Just to put it out there. Most likely absolutely not the case here, but if this 🤬🤬🤬 had sprayed in Melissa's home before? He could have set up that rope, and tape in the cellar for ready use. THAT would be premeditated.
