PA - Ellen Greenberg, 27, Philly teacher’s brutal stabbing, ruled suicide but possible homicide, Jan 2011

Philadelphia court case over Ellen Greenberg’s ‘suicide’ by stabbing ends with a whimper - Penn Live

In early September, Judge Linda A. Carpenter delivered an extended tongue-lashing to the city attorney representing the medical examiner over why Ellen Greenberg’s manner of death hadn’t been changed from suicide to undetermined.

“The court is frustrated. I never really understood why this couldn’t be changed to ‘undetermined’ from the beginning,” Carpenter said.
...
Only, the new report didn’t do what so many court observers, including apparently the judge, were expecting. The 35-page report based on a six-month re-examination of all the evidence in the case didn’t vacate the suicide ruling in Ellen’s brutal, bloody death.
...
So, as the hearing convened, the Greenbergs and their attorneys had received their long-awaited report. It just didn’t say what they wanted it to say.

As Greenberg attorney Joseph Podraza indicated to Judge Carpenter, that is a matter for another day – and another case, should the Greenbergs choose to bring what would be a third civil suit in their daughter’s death.

For now, the Ellen Greenberg court case is over. And her parents’ 14-year battle for “justice for Ellen” is at a pause.

The anticlimactic ending took all of a minute or two to wrap up.

“We consider this matter closed, at least for the petition that was before the court,” Podraza told the judge. “What the future holds, we will see.”
The strategy of the City is probably to exhaust the Greenberg's funds with litigation costs. An absolutely sickening example of corruption, IMO.

No, @Tricia.

Sam Golberg – 6:32 PM

6:32 PM Goldberg seen on a surveillance video enter the elevator by himself at 6:32 PM.

Sam Goldberg went to the Gym and returned about 30 minutes later, he found himself locked out, as the apartment’s swing bar lock was engaged from the inside.

Unable to reach Ellen by phone, text, email, or by shouting through a cracked door, Goldberg said he forcibly broke it open and discovered Ellen unresponsive on the kitchen floor.

This is the type of swing bar lock, right? These are really easy to break into from the outside with a shoelace or piece of string. I can do it in 30 seconds or less. JMO.

There was a similar case, suicide by stabbing, involving an Air Force Academy cadet. He has just had his wisdom teeth removed.

I know the case you're talking about and from what I can find on him, he was happy that day, not suicidal. I'd have to read more and maybe start a thread for him if I see anything fishy.

Dr. Osbourne said in the court filing, "Since issuing the amended death certificate, I have become aware of additional information," and "it is my professional opinion Ellen's manner of death should be designated as something other than suicide."

It’s amazing how your very succinct comment really highlights how absurd this ruling of suicide is.
In my experience with doctors, some people really just see "young woman with a history of anxiety" and attribute absolutely everything after that to your mental health 🙄

I hope that this case is public enough now (in a wider, national/international way) that the absolutely outrageous finding of “suicide” gets to the right person/people that it can no longer be swept under the rug. I hope that ALL of the people involved in not only Ellen’s death, but in the subsequent cover-up are publicly “outed” and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law - NO MATTER HOW HIGH UP THE “FOOD CHAIN” THEY ARE!

I’m sue that Ellen’s parents and other loved ones are devastated by this latest injustice, but I hope they can somehow manage to be strengthened knowing how many people believe this ruling is a complete travesty and who stand with them on JUSTICE FOR ELLEN!

The most disturbing thing to me is the first corner stated the he initially ruled it suicide at the insistence of law enforcement. Why would law enforcement insist anything and not just let him do his job and accept his determination other than incompetence and/or laziness. I'm not law enforcement so is it common for them to insist a corner lean one way or the other?

Give the ruling, given the possibility she was truly alone, is it possible that her Rxs, intended to salve her anxiety, exacerbated it? Super human strength and the combo, fueled by Ambien, should be filed with the crazy effects some users/patients report?

Over time, warning labels found their homes on these medications, warning of preposterous behaviors and increased suicide risk.

Could it be that the mystery murderer in the sealed house is the medicine cabinet?

Could that cocktail of Rxs have pushed her anxiety over the banks and introduced suicidal/homicidial ideation where there had not been? Pretty sure that warning already exists, but for young adults who are prescribed them. She was older than a young adult but who's to say the meds (going on or off or somewhere in between) didn't do exactly that in this situation? A case if the treatment being more deadly than the disease.

I think the meds (again going on or off and while taking them) are responsible for her increasingly disordered thinking (that everything hinged on 1st grade grades) and therefore could provide the explanation for how a pleasant school teacher went from not uncommon anxiety to a frenzied attack. Biomechanically impossible, somehow upended by biochemical hulkdom.

Just Me and My Opinion, looking at this situation from the perspective of no foul play.
