Forensic anthropologist to help ID skeletal remains found by turkey hunters
EXCELSIOR -- A noted forensic anthropologist plans to develop a biological profile of the skeletal remains turkey hunters discovered in Northumberland County on May 18.
Dennis Dirkmatt, who chairs the forensics sciences department at Mercyhurst University, said Wednesday he has just begun to examine the remains, found in a wooded area at the bottom of an embankment off Route 901 near Excelsior.
