He told his wife that he molested relatives 20 years ago...ages 3 & 5 I think. Within the past couple years he has been having dreams about molesting again.

I am. They are talking about what was found at the scene. 2 tubes of KY-Jelly...possibly for sexual assault. All the hardware that he bought one day last week and the rest yesterday morning. Shows pre-meditation,

Ages of girls being treated, no names 6,13,8,11& 8 . Pray hard for them to whomever you believe in.
Deceased: Naomi Rose Ebersole 7, Anna Mare Stolezfis 12 ,
Mariaane Fisher 13, Mary Liz Miller 8, Lina Miller 7
They were just babies! :furious: Bless their little souls....:( I can't imagine the fear of these sweet children....

In his note, he explains his grief of his daughter being premature and dying 20 minutes after birth. Tells his wife of molesting two female relatives at least 9, possibly 20 years ago. His family had no knowledge of this. Mentions his grudge from 20 years ago and says he has dreams lately of doing it over again.

Another sex offender gone clear crazy...we need to start shooting them!

His wife spoke with him at the school before the shooting started, he again expressed his grief of his dead daughter.

None of the children in the school were molested...as far as they know.
One 9 year old girl got out with her brother...blessed is she.

That's all for now.

This doesn't make much sense to me...I thought he was doing this out of revenge.

He was sicker than I thought. Again, as people have posted, he should have taken a solitary trip to the woods with a gun to do himself in.
I am stunned.

SOME Amish practice having sex "behind the barn" with their daughters - so they are ready for marraige to someone else. This MAY be less common than it once was. Mennonites would not do that.
.

I have NEVER heard that before! Yikes. There are some problems within their communities, but that is most definitely not a common thing.

Maybe these female relatives are at the age now where the problems, from his molestation, were starting to manifest and they were going to tell. Maybe it was revenge aimed at them.

Maybe is was revenge for his daughter dying (in his twisted mind) although he had another one, maybe he thought it unfair and wanted other people to share his grief of losing a daughter.

I dunno what this nut was thinking, but then again who can get inside of a crazy man's mind?

I just received the following on my CNN Breaking News alerts:

Police say that the man who shot children at an Amish school told his wife that he had molested young family members 20 years ago.

True sleuthers - help unravel this one.

I have to return to work - thanks for letting me stop by.

this man did not target the school because amish people had anything to do with the 20 yr old grudge. It is confirmed (I guess through the notes he left) that he did this there because he knew there would be no security and they couldn't get to phones.

I don't care what this wife says.......anyone with an artillary that huge in their house(guns, automatic weapons, knives, 600 rounds of ammo etc.)and who would take time to barricade the windows and doors with two by fours and bolts is seriously disturbed. He planned this thoroughly!!!!! He tied those babies feet together so they couldn't run! How do you point a gun at a 6 yr old in an apron and bonnet and freaking blow her head off execution style when you have a 7 yr old daughter of your own? You don't do these things if your the family man of the year, you just don't man. I know his wife is embarassed and suffering and probably horrified, but to come out and say this man was a loving and great guy........come on! It's an oxymoron.....you can't slaughter babies and be a great guy all in the same morning.....no freakin way. I am so dissapppointed to be a fellow human being of this man today my heart aches. What a freakin chump, what a coward. To know his children will always see their dad as the boogy man he turned out to be....that's what his wife should be sad about, not about this sorry excuse of a human being dead.
I feel very sorry for the three children he left behind.....very sorry. Their dad is a baby killer.

My feelings exactly. I do feel for his family, but I get so sick of all the "he was such a great guy" statements. Obviously, not a great guy, not to plan something like this........... :banghead:

I realize this has absolutely nothing to do with the horrible shooting tragedy, but it is an interesting read on Amish culture, written by someone who grew up Amish:

That's the frustrating side to criminal behavior. Part of you can be a complete freak like this, but part of you can still be someone's loving parent or child - or best friend. You can't say his horrible part cancels out his good part, any more than his good part can cancel out the bad. At least - not the way I see it. Two sides to the coin. That almost makes it scarier. People who can do this sort of thing can be the sweetest people, generally. Then there are people who are downright horrible ALL the time, you'd steer clear of them if you saw them and run in fear if they were against you in some way - yet - the ones who are horrible people 24/7 aren't the ones doing these crimes. It's the ones that sneak up and surprise you!

I think it had nothing to do with revenge at all. He's a disgusting pedophile and used the excuse of revenge to justify his horrid actions.

This is such a horrible thing to have happened. I just can't even imagine.

This guy walks his kids to the school bus...they are in the bus and he tells them to come back and give dad a hug. He hugs them and tells them to remember that he loves them.

Then off he goes to carry out the execution of 10 little girls!!! He had been planning this for a week or so. How could he just leave his own children and then drive off to murder 10 little girls?

I am glad that he told the mothers with the little babies to leave the building along with the boys. He could have murdered them all.

He planned to be holed up there for awhile with the little girls...KY jelly for pity sake. Boarded up the doors and pushed the desks and everything in front of the doors. Even had a bucket and t-paper. No food though.

I wonder what in the world happened to him when he was around 12 yrs old? We'll never know because he wouldn't even tell his wife just told her he carried a grudge from 20 yrs ago but he couldn't talk about it. LE can't find anyone in the total family that was molested when they were 3-4 yrs old..yet. They have a couple of people left to talk to. Like one LE officer said...At 3-4 yrs the children might not even remember. I guess the killers point was that he started molesting children a long time ago. Maybe he was molested by someone at 12 yrs and then he ended up molesting. Even though he had been dreaming of doing it again during the last few years he didn't have to carry through or murder 5...as of now... and horribly injure 5 other children. Those children weren't responsible for whatever happened to him when he was young.

I feel so bad for the wife and children of this killer. He must have covered himself well in acting normal. No one knew him as anything but a good father, husband, etc. What does he think his kids are supposed to think? His wife talked about the victims and how horrible she feels for them and their families. She asked for prayer for them and for her and her family.

The Amish are asking for prayer and say that they want to put this behind them as soon as possible. This is the way that they deal with things like this.
I'm sure that it doesn't mean that they won't grieve for their loved ones. I know there were at least two sisters that died. How heartbreaking.

The "revenge" explanation is falling by the wayside, according to the police commissioner. I think there was a misinterpretation yesterday and that he never specifically said "revenge" or "grudge". It may be that he said "It is because of something that happened 20 years ago" and his wife and the police interpreted that as meaning something that someone did to him, not something that he did himself.

I suspect he was starting to think about molesting his own children and he did this instead.

I think you are right. But the scary thing is he seemed so normal from what people have said.

Yeah, actually I do. Have you looked at it? If you start reading Chapter 1 you will see that it is a window into Amish culture. I am finding it very informative.

I read it also. I just didn't think it had anything to do with those little girls getting killed but that just me.
