I think that was a fantastic thing for your town members to do. MNBC is saying they may "tear down the schoolhouse "rather then have the kids go back to it.
Also they said there have been 5 dead and 5 still in the hospitals of the little girls who where shot.
A press conference right now.........on MSNBC.
State police are going to walk the press to the front of the school for photos at 1PM the media must move down the road. To the Georgetown NMC......
This will be a good spot to see the funeral processions the state police stated.
The trooper stated this meeting was for media and for getting school pictures of the school.....I am sure it is just for the outside of this school.

Make sure they know what is up.......so they can do the same to these people. I think that was a great idea.........obviously planned ahead as to where to put the protesters and how to work the trucks and the flag.
That is what we'd all like to see. In fact most of us would stand and hold the flag in front of them....Because this entire event is just too harsh and unbelievable as it is. CNN is reporting there will be 4 funerals tomorrow and one on friday. Also that the gunman spent a week planning this horror.

That inbred group of nutjobs had announced they would be 'protesting' a soldier's memorial service in my area. They never showed, but the Patriot Guard sure did. A girl in my neighborhood writes to soldiers and got her whole family to be among the supporters outside the service. The Patriot Guard is having a ceremony this weekend to honor the girl for her support.englishleigh said:

Ya know I was just watching the FOX reporter get really angry about this protest. The community is vowing to keep the protesters away.
I'm within a short driving distance from Lancaster....I tell you I'm very tempted to ride over there tomorrow to see if I can help put these hellhounds in their place....only I'm afarid I just might smack the
out of everyone of them for even considering to do such an atrocious thing...
I'd also like to give comfort in anyway I can. I'm having a really hard time with this senseless horrible thing that has happened to these people.

It would be easy for the English neighbors to block the roads. The roads that the houses are on are so narrow that a tractor or manure spreader or a couple of SUV's would work.
Turn loose some dogs and a bull or two in the adjacent fields so they can't hike in and everything will be fine.
It's especially annoying that they would do this when the killer is a HETEROsexual male.

Our world is definately changing...Fox says the protesters will definately be kept away by the community. Any church upholding these protesters is a disgrace to America. The protesters need to go to the schools & protest safetly for our children.....not harass families mourning. Shame, shame, on them this is a disgrace to our society!!

There was a law like this passed in MO recently and the ACLU promptly filed suit in behalf of this church to protect it's constitutional right to free speech.
Apparantly people do not have a right to grieve and bury their dead in peace in this country.
I do indeed fear that if they continue their protests that something bad is going to happen.

FRANKFORT, Ky. Persistent protesters from a Kansas church wouldn't be welcome at Kentucky funerals under a bill called out of a state Senate committee yesterday.
The legislation itself will be the target of yet another protest by Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan. Members of that church, calling Kentucky legislators "demagogues masquerading as statesmen," say they will be at the Capitol on Feb. 8. They've also planned a protest the same day at a memorial for Fort Campbell soldiers killed in Iraq.
"It's just not right," said state Sen. Tom Buford, R-Nicholasville, sponsor of Senate Bill 93. "They're attacking the military on our own soil, and we are doing nothing about it."
Senators moved yesterday to expedite the bill, which would allow police to charge protesters at a funeral with disorderly conduct. A similar measure, House Bill 333, is pending action in a House committee.
The Kansas group routinely protests U.S. soldiers' funerals across the country, carrying signs such as, "Thank God for IEDs," the improvised explosive devices used by insurgents. Members also went to West Virginia to protest at the funerals of dead coal miners last month.
The group, largely the extended family of the Rev. Fred Phelps, sees the deaths as a sign of God punishing America for tolerating gays.
A small group of the protesters gathered outside a chapel in Buckhannon, W.Va., on Jan. 15 with signs reading, "Thank God for Dead Miners," "God Hates Your Tears" and "Miners in Hell."
That protest prompted West Virginia lawmakers who represent the Sago families to propose a bill on Jan. 31 to keep such pickets 500 feet from a funeral or memorial service or risk a felony charge punishable by up to five years in prison and a $2,000 fine.
"It just keeps them away from the families," said West Virginia Delegate Bill Hamilton, an Upshur County Republican whose district includes Sago and who knew two of the miners killed. "They still can protest and exercise their First Amendment rights, but they shouldn't be close to the families."
The region's delegates were joined by colleagues representing Logan County, where two miners died after a Jan. 19 belt line fire at the Aracoma Alma No. 1 mine. The Kansas group had threatened to protest outside the services held over the weekend for miners Don I. "Rizzle" Bragg, 33, of Accoville, and Ellery "Elvis" Hatfield, 47, of Simon, but its members did not show up.
"It's just inhuman for a group that says it's coming in the name of the Lord to protest a funeral," said state Delegate Jeff Eldridge, D-Logan and a co-sponsor. "That's why we're doing what we're doing."
In Illinois, a legislative committee advanced a bill last week that would bar protests within 200 feet during services and 30 minutes before and after them. In West Virginia, Hamilton has also sponsored a yet-to-be-introduced measure that would set the boundary for funeral pickets at 1,000 feet.
Phelps' group did not respond to an e-mail requesting comment on the West Virginia bill. A statement posted on its Web site criticizes such legislation and says it helps spread the group's message.
"We already stand a reasonable distance from the funeral events," it said. "Anything more than about 100 feet will go too far, in most locations, so they will be subject to challenge."
According to the National Council of State Legislatures, lawmakers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin are considering legislation that would limit protests at funerals.

I like the idea of letting some dogs and a few bulls loose in the surrounding fileds too. This has got to stop. I am all for freedom of speach but this is taking it a little bit to far. There is a time and place for everything, this is not the time or place for this BS!

That is awesome....It's to bad is doesn't become mandatory in all schools. After this brutal attack, it proves it can happen anywhere at anytime. I sincerely feel not enough is being done to insure the kids are safe at school or else this wouldn't be happening.strach304 said:

Mike Gallagher has offered the group air time on his show in exchange for them skipping the funeral. Hopefully the group will take him up on the offer and the listeners will just mute the sound for that hour while they blather.
This group also protested the funerals of some of the miners who died in the mine accidents holding up their signs "Thank God for Dead Miners". This is the type of hate group that the ACLU feels the need to protect.
I honestly believe that this group has a agenda that has nothing to do with homosexuality. The Amish don't go into the military and their religious beliefs would also make them against homosexual behavior.

Naomi Rose Ebersol, 7 year old daughter of Amos and Katie Ann Fisher Ebersol, of 1921 Mine Rd., Paradise, died Monday, October 2, 2006.
Naomi was a 2nd grade student at West Nickel Mine Parochial School, Paradise and attended the Old Order Amish Church.

Mary Liz Miller, 8, and Lena Z. Miller, 7, daughters of Christ and Rachel Zook Miller, of 5070 White Oak Road, Paradise, passed away on Tuesday morning from injuries sustained from the incident in Nickel Mines Monday. Mary passed away at Christiana Hospital, Delaware, and Lena passed away at Hershey Medical Center. Both girls were born in Paradise and attended the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving besides their parents are one sister: Susan Miller and two brothers: Lester and Abram Miller, all at home; maternal grandparents: Elmer and Mary Petersheim Zook of Drumore; and paternal grandparents: Enos and Rebecca Fisher Miller of Paradise.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 5th at 1 p.m. Standard Time from their late home, 5070 White Oak Road, Paradise. Friends may call at the home from the time of this notice until time of service. Interment will be in the Bart Amish Cemetery.
