NM at the Pa Missing site e-mailed me back this afternoon, she says the pics posted are the only ones that are worth posting.
I invited her to join us here, as we discuss several of the cases she has on her site-the Carbon County Jane Doe, Mr. Bones, and now this unfortunate young lady...

Well, I went ahead and sent what I had to PennsylvaniaMissing and another email to the A&P headquarters with the info. Hopefully they might be able to tell us if it looks like it came from any of their stores, or if they know of a "farmer" store with those letters.
I looked and looked at the pic, and it looks to me like the letters under "FA" could be "CLO"
Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
:)

i managed at one point to pull up clo also. i did some research but didn't come up with anything.

can anyone identify the type print for the FA. to me it resembles the style you get when you buy stencils.

farmer sign looks good but theres writting under this FA that needs to be identified.

I believe the A&P purchase came after 1988.

i wonder if this organization could help?
http://www.logo-base.com/listof_logos.html

I really don't understand what this company is, but if someone wants to take a stab at emailing them. Go for it!
Well, I sent the following email to the company's contact person:

I am a member of a group called websleuths
Here is our link
One of the cold cases we are trying to solve is that of a young woman who was murdered. Her body was discovered in 1988 in a shallow grave along with pieces of a white plastic grocery bag with lettering on it.
I made a screen shot of the picture of the bag off one of the sites, and a screenshot of the Farmer Jack logo. They are remarkably similar, although the word below what looks to be the beginning of the word "Farmer" looks like it starts possibly with the letters CLO. I live in Michigan, and have lived on both sides of the state. On the west side we had a store called Farmer Fridays, whose logo looked similar too. What I am asking is, in the "Farmer" family of stores, is there a "Farmer" store with the letters CLO in it? If so, would you know in which area or which state it was located?
Below is a picture of both screenshots together for comparison (I also sent the picture as an attachment)

(image not shown)

Here are two links for the case:
First is the page from Doe network
http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/349ufpa.html
Second is the link from,PennsylvaniaMissing site, and you must scroll down to the bottom of the page to get to her case. On this page is also the pictures of the partial grocery bag.

Any help or information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

"My Jessie Angel"

Of course on the email itself the image showed up fine, and I added the image as an attachment as well, just to cover all bases.
All we can do now I guess is wait to see if they respond.

Hey everyone,

I just got a fresh outlook on this case from my 17 year old daughter (bless her heart).
She looked at the picture and agreed it DID look alot like the Farmer Jack logo, but also said that to her it looked like the "Farmer" could have been "Family" and the "CLO" could have been GLO. Looking closer I can see the C could very well be a G.

Hmmmm, gives me more options to look for?

At any rate I also found a link to a site where you can get listings for every single grocery store (or other type of business) in a given state.

Here is the link for those who are interested:
http://www.switchboard.com/

It doesn't show the store logos, only the name address and phone numbers, but we can look for a name that might fit what is printed on the bag. It's a start anyway.

Back to the search!!!!

I e-mailed pictures of the bag to the Faygo Soda Company. I hope they get back to me!

We're dealing with 1985-88.

Bag was probably killers. Maybe in his car. Had to have car, she was found in a state park. She was not reported missing. Dressed like an typical young person of the times. Mickey Mouse shirt, Bonjour jeans.
I think the bag was put over her face, I feel like she's staring at me in that image.
Any of this right?

I thought I was just going flaky from staring at it too long, but yeah, I could see the imprint of a face, too.
The park is along the PA Turnpike, so it was probably just a convenient dump site. I'm thinking Philly, NY or Jersey.

I hope they do too. In the 80's they came out with their line of WATER. the only thing with Faygo is that used a small a not a capital A as seen in photo.

I saw it right away, and the way the bag is torn, like tied in the back. I would bet from Philly. People just get lost there, its a big place.
I wonder if she was prostituting or hitchhicking. You would think there would be something else besides a grocery bag.
Who sold bonjour jeans? K mart?

Someone else had the thought that the jacket sounded like a school jacket...There is a missing girl on Doe that was brought up, but her school colors were different (this from AWagner and Hollow).
I recall the Bon Jour clothes were knock-offs, but can't remember who produced them.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember Bonjour jeans falling into the same category as Jordache and Bugle Boy used to be. I think you could find them in dept. stores at one time. I think they were considered designer jeans during at least part of the 80s and weren't super cheapos. I think there was a knock-off brand called bongos that looked similar.

I am seeing something else in the photo that only shows the ater, but I think I am going bonkers. I'll try to get it up so u can see I am. LOL

I didn't blow this up big enough but it looked like an image just above the letters ater. This is the first photo that was listed. It looks like and old fashion girl sort of sitting/lying back. She has on the old type bonnet, long dress. I made it red so it would stand out.

Bonjour jeans were exspensive jeans. They were equivelent to Sasson Jeans which back then everbody wanted to be wearing.
