SOMERVILLE, NJ: Somerset County Superior Court Judge Robert B. Reed admonished school officials from the Butler and Montville school districts for their handling of a former first-grade teacher with a history of molesting female students during the teacher's sentencing Friday.

JASON FENNES, 44, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, was relieved of his duties from both school districts after molesting students and signing a privacy agreement. That agreement, said Reed, allowed Fennes to later secure a job at the Cedar Hill Prep School in Franklin Township, where he was indicted for molesting a first-grader there.

"Their conduct is only slightly less despicable than yours," Reed said to Fennes before sentencing him. "These school officials committed the egregious act of turning a blind eye to the situation and by their silence became complicit and an accomplice to this crime... They hid your crime from public view, from the very people who they are paid to protect," the judge said. "How could they fail to report this conduct and simply pass this pedophile along. This is known as 'passing the trash.' These school administrators are rarely penalized for failing to report these pedophiles. But that I could only have those people before me... There are no consequences for these administrators," said Reed, pounding his fist.

"I wish those officials from Butler and Montville were sitting behind the defense table with Mr. Fennes." Reed said he regretted he couldn't sentence Fennes to a longer term and that he couldn't sentence school officials from the Butler and Montville school districts to jail time.

During their victim's impact statements, the parents of the first-grader gave a tearful account of what their daughter endured and continues to endure. They gave a graphic description of the abuse heaped upon their daughter by Fennes. They talked about how she had to be examined for a sexually transmitted disease. "Words can't express the devastation you have visited upon my family," said the victim's father. "It was a classroom of horrors. How do I process this, not being able to protect my child? I'm worried that my daughter will be OK when she gets older."

I’d like to add some more narrative about our Sun Jan 15 2017 afternoon visit to 990 E CHERRY ROAD, QUAKERTOWN PA.

Mrs. F and I drove down E CHERRY ROAD on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Yet even in full daylight, I can only describe the approach to the home as “creepy”. Of course, we were both aware of the grisly details of the murder that occurred there. Still, we found the drive down this long, heavily wooded country road to be offputting. I have a brief video of the drive approaching 990 E CHERRY ROAD but I am unsure if posting that video would be appropriate here. Regardless, I feel the “approach” to this location would be “creepy” even without prior knowledge of the Grace Packer murder.

We parked on the 990 side of E CHERRY ROAD. Near where we parked, the adjacent home behind 990 house offered an outdoor shed or kiosk where people could purchase firewood/kindling, leaving money on an honor system, and we parked next to that. Mrs. F and I were acutely aware to be respectful of property and persons. The total time we spent at this location would be under 3 minutes, I recollect.

Mrs. F remained in our car, and I exited with my phone camera. I remained on the road at all times. I walked just a few paces from the car to face the front/right side of 990 E CHERRY ROAD house, which appeared vacant.

In the time it took me to walk a few paces from our car to 990 house, an older white female exited the larger home adjacent (behind) the 990 house. The larger home is set farther back from E CHERRY ROAD than 990 house. The female yelled “What are you people doing? You people need to stop!” It is safe to say she was yelling loudly, as Mrs. F heard the female clearly from inside our car with windows closed.

As the woman yelled, I stopped taking photos. I immediately returned to our car. I did not respond vocally or gesture in any way. I got into the car and we drove away.

We felt a quick exit was both respectful, as well as more safe. As Mrs. F remarked as we drove away, this locale seemed to be the kind where property owners might choose to “shoot first and ask questions later”. Full disclosure: I never felt threatened by actions taken by the female.

But creepy? Yes. Creepy is the word.

The registered sex offender is indeed across the street from 990 E CHERRY ROAD QUAKERTOWN, PA (Grace Packer Murder Scene). A 1 minute walk, as per Bing Maps.

AFAIK, the home associated with that registered sex offender is unrelated to the person that Mrs. F and I interacted with. David

I agree, also I am wondering how much of all of this K. Albright was aware of, as far as I know, she is laying low, but she was considered I thought I read, a person of interest. I am having a hard time believing she knew nothing about the continued abuse of Grace, and she was staying in that house, while Grace was killed and stored in the attic.

She went to her caseworker, the caseworker did not believe her. She then found the phone and brought that to a caseworker, and a detective and that is when David Packer was arrested. Agter that she left, and never heard anything, no one contacted her until Grace went missing. She was only there when Grace, Josh, and the other girl were there, she doesn't know any other children's treatment.

I also find it hard to believe, given the sheer volume of red-flag-worthy behavior that's come to light in the couple weeks, that KA knew *nothing* was amiss about that situation. But don't you find it interesting that LE hasn't formally made any charges or even allegations against her? (So far as I know.) 'Course LE didn't make charges against SP when she claimed to not have any knowledge of her ex-husband's sexual abuse against GP & the older foster daughter even though SP's claim strain all credulity and ended up getting her fired.

I don't practice criminal law at all -- so consider that the disclaimer for this post -- but I found this explanation about what a prelim hearing is & why an accused person would not waive it which seems to make sense with the little I know about the subject:

So, in plain english, if Sara Packer (or her defense team) waives the prelim hearing... they WANT a trial to happen?

Or... SP side did not want a prelim to happen because any evidence presented might be covered by the press, damaging their chances at a trial (which they believe will happen regardless)? This assumes the press/public may attend the "prelim" and publish about it.

Of course, in 911 CALL 2, KA is relaying these facts to 911 emergency operators hours(?) after the emergency is over… one of the most inexplicable and bizarre actions taken by KA in this entire case.

Ask yourself: Does it seem humanly possible that Katherine Allbright and multiple EMS workers were able to enter that very small 1 bed/1bath apartment, render emergency medical aid, and then transport Jacob Sullivan out, while somehow NEVER DISCOVERING an unresponsive Sara Packer mere feet away in the 1 bathroom of the home, presumably dying?

A bathroom which, in order for Sara Packer to remain undiscovered, must have BEEN CLOSED and REMAINED CLOSED for the entire time that Katherine Allbright was in the home, before and during the time EMS/KA dealt with Jacob Sullivan transport, until Katherine Allbright returned from Abington Hospital back to 429B SUMMIT AVE, HORSHAM PA (hours later?) and, finally, opened the bathroom door?

Hi! Question for you. Why on earth did KA call 911 AFTER the fact?! Just to fill them in, that she'd taken - in her private vehicle - a person to the hospital? Odd.
