A 44-year-old grandmother and her 1-year-old grandson were shot and killed, the Lehigh County coroner said Saturday morning. A third 66-year-old victim was found at the scene suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds, according to the Allentown Police Department.

The shootings took place at a home on the 100 block of Chestnut Street at approximately 8:42 p.m. Both deaths have been ruled as homicides by Lehigh County Coroner Dan A. Buglio. Autopsies are scheduled to take place Jan. 2.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS where he is being treated and is expected to survive, authorities said.
