PA - Her arm stuck in drop-off bin, woman freezes

I have to wonder if maybe she dumped something then realized , she didn't mean to?

I'm thinking that's doubtful. A previous report had been made about a woman driving a Hummer stealing stuff from the same place. No positive ID but probably the same woman.

I wonder if she donated items and had realized she'd put something in there that she realized wasn't supposed to go and was trying to fish it back out before folks went through the bags the next morning? Either way, what a horrible way to pass.

Having dropped off bags of clothes in the past the door is similar to the door at a bank when dropping in the envelope for a deposit. When you pull down the door it has a shelf that keeps what has been dropped in from being exposed, when you release the door the item/bag then drops inside the bin. When the container becomes fuller the bags are closer to the top and can probably be fished out. Once I stopped and the door would not open because it was full.jmo

I wonder how tall the stool was? I'd guess it was needed to reach the bottom of the box. Not sure, since I've never even thought of doing such a thing.

Totally agree, it's a sad situation for her family. I read her obit and it appears she has a large extended family.

Her shoulder would have had to be to the level of the door, when you pull down the door the back of the shelf is smaller in height then the front with the handle. Sort of like a V shape, With her wrist broke and her arm broke it sounds like her weight kept her from being able to close the door to release herself. It would not surprise me if there was not an object she was using to fish the bags out. I have wondered if she said she was getting what she was taking/stealing from yard sales/thrift shops. How would you explain these items. idk jmo

I assume she needed the stool for leverage, and to easily access the clothes from the outside in. It's like trying to steal candy bars out of a vending machine if the drop box was near the top of the machine rather than the bottom.

I'd suspect her financial situation was getting pretty grim. What I want to know is what was the motive. Judging by her pics she looks pretty comfortable, which is why it's so weird why a woman would be stealing clothes in the middle of the night. Drug problem maybe? Mounting financial trouble? Boredom? It's bizarre whatever the reasoning.

It's really ironic: she died of hypothermia, but there was probably a jacket or warm clothing that could have possibly saved her life inside the donation box. If only she could have accessed it. Extremely sad.

You're probably absolutely right about the Hummer being gifted to her if that's the case. Could have been hoarding, may have been trying to start eBaying or reselling in some regard, may just have been facing financial problems, just what I can think of top of my head. Need more info.
