The Sharp Mountain area is rugged with numerous mine shafts and rock slides. An extensive search turned up no sign of Harig. He has dropped out of sight before, but only for a couple of weeks at a time. He left behind a young son.

Since Harig's disappearance, he hasn't used his bank account or applied for unemployment benefits. Foul play is not suspected in his case, but it remains unsolved.

No explanation as to why his friends dropped him off and left him there? I would be hesitant to leave him there, especially if my friend also made such a statement as he got out of my vehicle.

Exactly. There are so many red flags in this story.

So, according to the friends, James asked to be driven to this mountain without giving any reason why. Yes, "likes to hunt and is an outdoors person," but you'd think he would've told his friends he wanted to go on a solo hike or hunt. But no reason is given.

Then, as he exits the vehicle, he says, "This looks like a good place to get lost." None of his friends asks him what he meant by that, but they just drive away, letting him walk into the woods alone.

Also, James was reported missing two weeks later, not by his friends, but by his sister Jessica. Were his friends not worried about him that first or second night they didn't hear from him? Even experienced hikers or outdoors people can run into trouble in the woods.

And lastly, when interviewed, Jessica said: "We're really scared, we're really scared... We just lost our father last year and I don't want to lose a brother." So this opens up a potential scenario: James could've been suicidal after this father's death. (Had the first year anniversary just passed?) But that just begs the question: No one else was worried about that in the two weeks after he disappeared?
