On Thursday, the girl's father, Joseph A. Urquia, pleaded guilty to beating her to death Dec. 19 at their Easton home, admitting he punched her "at least twice" in the head because she wouldn't stop crying.

Previous charge on older child:

In 2009, he admitted spanking that girl, who was 3 months old at the time, so hard it caused a large bruise across her buttocks. He pleaded guilty to simple assault, a misdemeanor.

Northampton County Judge Paula Roscioli gave Urquia the maximum sentence possible: 20 to 40 years in state prison for third-degree murder...

Roscioli described Urquia's violently punching his baby daughter in the head twice, crushing her skull and causing her to suffer incredible pain and distress. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office ruled Joselynn died from blunt force trauma to the head.
